You don't even need landing gear to fly in that.

Is there a Pitts muffler out there anywhere for the DLE 55 that costs less than the 5" diameter diesal muffler on my Cummins powered Ram?

I have a DLE 55 in my 3DHS Extra. I got the Troy Built Models "Silent Beauty" Pitts muffler for that plane. Much quieter than the stock type muffler and very light for a Pitts muffler, and for no additional charge it actually looks good!

It was priced less than the others. $65 bucks right now on their Wbsite and weights 8.8 ozs.

Guys I just ordred a DLE-55 for my 35cc Aeroworks Extra 260. I bought a 20X10 prop for it because a 22x8 is gonna be to close to the ground. Yall think i'll be ok with a 20X10? I figured the 20x10 would be equilivent to a 22x8. I owned a DL-50 a while back and it was awesome, really excited about getting the 55. So what yall think about my prop issue?

I had done that on my 260. I found my DL 50 rev'ed a little on the high side with a Xoar 20x10 and went to a three blade prop. I have some Xoar 20x12 props I am going to try this summer to see how they do on the 55.

I tried both the Xoar 20x8 and 20x10. The 20x8 was a little slow in the air, but made it easy to maintain constant speed doing manuvers and it climbed like a homesick angle. The 20x10 was better all around but did load the engine down a bit. With the 55 I think it is going to be even better.

I pulled the Reed Block out and low and behold, one reed very worn on the tip and the reed next to it (same side) shattered. The 2 reeds on the other side look fine.

Everything else looks good guess I just need a new Reed Block.
Another Big thanks to Jody and Valley View.

Ordered a reed block Saturday from Jody in Washington........... today it was in my mail box in Dallas! AMAZING

Thanks!

I got my DLE 55 back in the air today but it ran like crap all day. I'm not sure why but turning the needles did not help much. The engine was very hard to start the first time but after the first time it started up easily. I ran a 23x8 and was only able to get 6500 RPMs. I switched to a K&S front dump cansiter and used a new CM-6 spark plug. What are the nominal setting for the high and low needle and what gap is recommended for the CM-6 spark plug?
