What i do is take the throttle trim down. I think its stupid because its very easy to dump a plane durring landing just because leaving the left hand stick to take the trim down. Is there any switches for a cut-off any ways?
thanx

you can use anyswitch......just mix it to throttle. Most poeps use the throttle cut/trainer button.

Or you can get an ignition kill switch and mix it to that button or any other.

It's all pretty simple

Tony,

Go to mix menu and mix throttle to throttle for a value around 20% assign it to any switch that you want and anytime you hit that switch your throttle will be reduced by 20% so if you are on idle it will kill the engine for you. Check the +/- values to see which one actually reduces the throttle by 20%. My 10X is +20%. Hope this helps. Reza

make sure you put that switch somewhere where you wont in-advertantly hit it.... Nothing like hitting the kill in a rolling harrier 3' off the deck.... That would be bad.... Does the 9303 have sliders/rollers like the 10x. I use the Left hand flap pot on the 10x the one that you have to roll 180 degrees to turn it off...

I am using the rear right switch on my 9303 as a kill switch. it is the throttle hold switch on my 9303 heli version. I thought about using the side sliders on the Tx but I can see myself bumbing that in flight. I do like the using the trainer button as a kill switch as well.

Forward left switcht for me.

I put a little piece of silicone fuel tube over it as well to remind me.
Also I have it mixed so it will only kill the ignition on flight mode 0 with the throttle stick completely at idle.

It does use a few free mixers up, but I still have enough to do what I need.

You can set up two different throttle curves on the 9303. If you go to the throttle curve screen you will see SW Select. Highlight that area then it will give you several options for where you can put the two throttle curves. That is the easiest way on the 9303.

I use an optical ignition switch from electro dynamics and use the top left switch to activate it… I think it is the gear switch.

I also have it set to kill the ignition if it ever goes into PCM lock, and if the receiver ever craps out or both batteries crap out simultaneously it automatically will kill the ignition. I don't want a 100 or 150 cc anything crashing on anyone… but it would be a whole lot better if the 28-34" CF weapon of mass destruction, wasn't turning as well.

For my Optical kill by Smart Fly I use Aux 3 on the Flap Lever. Up/on Down/off.

I use my trainer button. I just set the servo speed a little slower in the transmitter so that the engine doesn't die when I start the timer. I like it there because I can't accidentally switch it off.

I have choke on my Flap switch on my 9303 and that is what I use to cut the engine, I think it is a lot easier this way.

THe whole "mix this to that, and set this curve up, with that %" is my only beef with this radio.

The Fatuba's programming has both IDLE DOWN, and THrottle Cut, built in and named and mixed for you. JR should take a page out of FATUBA's programming guide and give it to thier programmer.

I don;t do any of that stuff, I just click down my throttle trim, to easy to make a wrong % choice or have it mixed wrong. I like my JR 9303 and use it exclusively on my Gas models. But when I use the Fatuba for my Glow stuff the IDLE DOWN , and Throttle CUT FEATURES (built in features) make it a joy to use.

JR dropped the ball on this feature, and the minions who suck up to JR, refuse to condemn it for fear of being ostracized by their peers. This is also the case with certain airplane manu's (EF and Carden come to mind) as well. I prefer to tell it like it is......JR still has not made the Perfect radio yet. Neither has Fatuba.

You just have to learn the "machine" you are playing with, and put up with it's idiosyncracies. Besides, a perfect world would be dull.
