John Nelon called me about Two hours ago but couldn't find any info on it. he's been on the local TV station promoting his new plane and trying to make a living on it at air shows. He will surely be missed. Here's a picture of him with his MX2. Rob

What a sad loss. I met Paul at the 2008 Santa Rosa airshow and spent more time with him at the Travis airshow. He had a great personality and was a great performer. Watching him sign autographs at the crowd line was as entertaining as his airshow routine. Our prayers go out to the families and friends that surrounded Paul.
Most of us have seen Paul in person or a video of him flying by now, but for those that didn't, here's a video I shot of Paul's flight from Sunday at Travis.

From the pictures it looks like he spun it in.

What's sad as well, is that apparently the passenger he had with him was a high school kid.

Paul seemed to be a genuinely good guy and it's very sad that he's gone now. My prayers are with him and his family.

here is a better story on the crash
http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/new..._victim_031009

High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
John Gillespie Magee

my thoughts and prayers are with families and all their friends that mourn from this loss

Josh
