I'm also flying the 12*6 APC, great prop, amazing power and like Chris a combo with a rather low current.

Quite honestly I can't see needing any more punch than the 12x6 provides, it produces well over 200 Watts/lb and provides ballistic vertical performance while not working the sytem too hard.
Hey Chris thanks for the more positive answer I was looking for!! I think you would know since it's your design!

The man said it and that is the end of the story. I must be killing my stuff in 47" Yak then but come to think of it I never use a lot of full throttle.

12x6E it is all the way around.

Thanks for clearing it up Chris and sorry for the confusion on my part.

Mine is here!!!!!

But umm, Curtis... we may have an issue. I think you mixed up the boxes... The one I got is normal Red. I pity the poor person who opens their box to find a Brown and Green EXP!!!

Lol. All joking aside... this kit is awesome. I just finished going through everything and reading the manual. The covering is just plain flawless and the construction is awesome. If I had my batteries I'd be flying this thing tomorrow afternoon!

Totally agree. The Extra is awesome. The funny thing is how much I liked the way my 45" Extra flew until i flew this one. If you turn the rates down on the elevator this thing flies like it is on rails. If you go all out on the elevator this thing will do some super cool walls and harriers. The snaps are unbelievable.

Just got mine in Red. Ditto to everyone's comments. Nicest ARF I've ever seen!

Had to keep the cost down so I used Hobbycity for the motor and ESC. I just read the recommended Hobby King motor above but unfortunately I had already ordered a TR 35-48-B 900kv Brushless Outrunner. The specs seemed OK:

Model: TR35-48-B
Input Voltage : 7.4V~18.5V (2~5S Li-po)
Kv : 900 rpm/V within 10%
Nb. of turns : 10 Delta
Max. efficiency current : 20~30A
Current capacity : 42A/60s
Internal Resistance : 43 mohm
No Load current @ 7V: 1.83A
Dimensions : 35mm X 48mm
Shaft diameter : 4mm / 0.16in
Weight with cables : 163g / 5.75oz
Number of poles/magnets : 14
Recommended model weight : 1500~2800g / 52~98oz
Power equivalent : .30 to .35 glow engine
Stator Dimentions: 28x26mm

and it was only $18. I also ordered the HK SS-Series 60 amp ESC and 2 - Zippy 20C 4S 2650's. Any comments on whether this motor is going to be OK? If you think not, please tell me why so I can avoid making the same mistake again. Nice thing is their stuff is so inexpensive that mistakes don't cost a fortune to fix. 8-)

The Zippy batteries have been holdong up very well. I have beat the crap out of my 4S 2200mah batteries and they seem to be holding up very good.
