I epoxied as per instructions. Some guys have been flying these pretty hard and I haven't heard of any problem with crushing the CF rods..

Nope, never had a problem here. Just don't tighten them too far! It's pretty easy to judge the right torque.

Well, my number came up this week and I got my new EXP. Always a thrill to see a big box on the porch after a long day in the salt mines. PLUS, some REALLY nice person at EF even took the time to give me some extended and very personal instructions for best performance and longevity of the EXP. Check out the note on my box. Thanks for the personal service guys!! ;-)

LOL. I still haven't got mine, so I'm still holding my breath. Mine had BETTER not be it. As soon as I know that it's normal, I'll be able to sigh...

Now now...

Blair, my definition of 'Normal' just means "That which is not Tree-trunk brown, with Leafy green wings."

I was wondering about the E-Z connectors and crushing the CF rod if too much pressure was applied tightening the screw.
I rough the CF rods and fit them tightly to the clevises, then thread the clevises using a piece of 2-56 rod, then use thick CA both on the rod and inside the clevis before sliding them together. Once the CA sets, you will destroy the nylon clevis or CF rod before the glue joint will break. Be careful to gett it right on the FIRST try. . there are no "adjustments" or second chances once the CA kicks off. . which only takes about 3-4 seconds at most.
