I am using the Hacker setup with the hacker X55 ESC. I dont think it is the speed controls, but I had about 12 flights on mine and never seen a flashing light after a flight, until it went in. i am still amazed at how well this plane flies, cant wait for the 50cc size to come out. Chris had one at Fly For Tots, looked exactly like the small one and looked like it flew just as good. Maybe Chris will chime in and let us in on the date.

The one that Chris had was a 78", and it will be built for electric. Sure will be sweet!

I think you can set it up for gas also or their going to have one for electric and one for gas?

I was setting up my servos tonight getting them centered and what not. Something is up with my Elev. servo. I changed out the Karbonite gears for metal ones. It works for a little bit then you go up elev. and it's fine, down position and let it center itself it comes back slowly then after a few minutes it won't work at all,up or down!! The metal gears looked exactly the same as the Karbonite ones I replaced them with. Then again that's the only servo doing that..ARG!!!

Did it have the Ferrite ring "choke" on it to minimize interference?

Yes, the 820/45 amp speed control is the combo being offered....it's what we recommend....

I've got a plane that I have to finnish before I can get started on this one. :-( It's not even my plane that I'm working on... Oh well. I hope to get this thing done by the end of the weekend.

Have you put the karbonites back in to see if the problem resolves itself?

Just got in my 2nd extra today, but after going through the carnage of the first one I found the ESC had a problem. I called AeroModels the supplier of Hacker and they told me to send it back in and they would give me a discount on a new speed control. That is customer service. I should have it up and flying by next weekend . I was wondering if anyone has used a small 4.8volt battery as a backup incase the ESC gives out or other problems. Atleast you would still have some control?

I don't remeber. If the esc didn't come with one on there, then there isn't one. I shouldn't have interference on 2.4 and the Rx light flashing is indicating a power drop.

True, it's those kids volleyball games, family visiting, wife etc that halts the assembly time. Started it today, appears to be a quick assembly like the first EFRC 45" Extra was.

I got it to work.. I got the Karbonite gears and looked at them against the metal ones and they were the same. I changed back to the original pin that a couple of the gears slide onto put the servo back together and it's working perfect now with the metal gears.. Maybe the new pin was to long not letting the gear case go back together properly? IDK but it works fine now thats all the really matters..

I actually got a little hop out of the plane at our club meeting at the field tonight. It wasn't meant to happen .The wind was gusting to 45mph today.. I was just doing a fast ground run and it hopped into the air then into the corn stalk next to our field-- hahah!! I didn't want to commit to going for the full flight with the wind gusting that much!! The plane weighs next to nothing so it didn't get any damage.
