Bossier Rob, we went ahead and shipped a new Airboss Elite 45 ESC to you yesterday. I want to make sure you get to enjoy the full potential of the EXP! If you would kindly return the other unit I would certainly appreciate it so we can see what is going on with it.
Thanks!

I don't check my CG that way. But the way I check, i know it hasn't changed. 45s still level out to inverted. Don't climb a single bit. Yet 3Ds awesome.

Man that's awesome of you. I have my ESC in a box on my desk at work ready to go out in the morning. I'll be certain to hand it to the driver myself to make sure it gets back to you. I sure didn't see that coming but thanks a ton bro. I'll give you a call after I try everything out and let you know how it works out. You Extreme Flight guys are great in my book.

Extreme Flight Rc,"Extreme Customer Service"(You can use that on your website) WOOT WOOT!!

Inverted mine is totally neutral with the Batt. at the Wingtube!!And it still does precision very well.. On my Turnigy 2200mah battery I'm getting over 8 min.and have a little over 750mah left on it..

Are any of you guys with the Airboss 45 ESC reprogramming it so it doesn't use the soft start ? Not sure if I like the Soft Start,it messes me up trying to hover and harrier.. Or is it something to just get use to ?

Thanks,
Frank

Can someone from Extreme Flight tell me whether there is any other Distributors in Australia other than Precision Aerobatics??? They are not bringing the EXP in and I really want one..
Freighting it over privately is VERY expensive

soft start is for heli or gear box applications. definitely not for 3d action.
read the manual to disable it.
http://www.extremeflightrc.com/manua...boss_Elite.pdf

also the timing can sometimes improve throttle transition on outrunners, changing it to the 22~30 deg option. i use this setting on my hacker, haven't tried it on any extreme flight gear...

Hey Nate,
Thanks for the info! I'm going to try to disable it and hopefully I won't mess the thing up!! But yea it doesn't help for 3D at all--by the time it reacts and I'm trying to compensate with rudder it Yaws to much!

Thanks,
Frank

Ok...I tried to disable it.. I hear the specific beeps, then pull the throttle back to idle, then unplug the battery, then turn off the ESC switch, turn off Tx. When I pull the throttle back,I hear the same beeps like when your first plug everything, not just two beeps like the instructions say...

Tx back on,plug in the battery, turn on the ESC switch and it still seems the same.. It should be instant throttle response correct ? It seems the same.

Chris, I got the new ESC today. I haven't tried it yet because I left the deans plug at work and I can't find a spare but I'll hook it up and give it a try tomorrow. I think it will be fine. The original ESC that came with the plane is deffinately not the same one. Looks like it was an older version and would certainly be subject to screwing up running on a 4s when it wasn't made to be used over 3s. Might also make sense why my throttle never was linear. Thanks again for the great support. I will be buying something else from you guys in the future for sure. What's the date on that big extra again? lol. Keep up the great work!
EDIT: Everything appears to be working fine. Throttle response is much better and Rx lights are solid. No test flights yet, though. Seems the crash fried my rudder servo. Hopefully my LHS will have something in stock I can use as a replacement.

it might still take a split second to respond to the throttle stick... im not sure if the beeps are normal or not, i don't have one to check it out. maybe someone else can chime in with the beeps from exiting programing mode.

i would try checking throttle response from say 20% throttle to about 80%. moving the stick very fast and seeing how fast the motor responds. try this with the setting for soft start enabled and disabled, seeing if there is a noticeable difference. you should definitely notice the change during a flight if it worked or not.

Lee Morey gave me a good idea to just set the throttle trim like a reg. gas motor, just enough to keep the prop moving, that seemed to help it out..

Thanks,
Frank
