That's the frustrating part. I'm not sure what the lesson is here. If I had flown it into the ground, I would know what I did wrong. I suspect the connector got loose, which makes me not want to use easy connectors. It seems like having multiple tiny screws in something with that much movement is begging for problems. I want to get another 300exp. It is a well designed plane and flies great, but I want to figure out what happened before I do it again.

I don't mind taking risks and have been waiting to plow my other plane in from flying too low or hitting light poles. It's pretty damn disappointing though, to have it come apart in midair after painstakingly putting it all together and checking for alignment, movement, etc., and trying to get it perfect. Glad I didn't have my video camera on it.

The elevators, by the way, were unbelievable. It seemed to just be slowly settling straight down. I did some pretty high and got bored waiting on it to get down.

Its definitely a great flying airplane!

I completely understand how you feel. Its even worse when you have something go wrong on a big bird. Even more time involved, not to mention the money!

The easy connectors have worked great for me so far, and I've probably got 50 flights on mine. I check over them all every now and again to make sure they're staying tight. I doubt Chris would send something with his kits that wouldn't work. Chris is a super guy!

Unless the little nut that holds the quick connector to the servo arm came off ? Really sounds like the Aileron fluttered itself to death. With those big surfaces it wouldn't take much to make Flutter happen..

Bill45, sorry to hear about this. It is a great flying plane, I really like mine. I have had no issues with the easy connector, yes I did loctite mine and thought it said to do so in the manual, but I will have to read it again to be certain. Easy connectors are fine, you should check them as Seth said (I actually think his schedule of checking them is great). Just imagine if full scale pilots did not preflight before each flight??????? Not bashing on ya, just maybe something to consider.......
I also run the AR6200 for about 12 flights now with no issues. Maybe I am lucky........but at any rate please post any findings.

Yeah still waiting on a servo. My LHS didn't have anything in the same case size to substitute for a day or two so I had to order one Friday (two just in case). Should be in in the next couple days and I'll go fly it some more.

The receiver is the same kind, but a different one. I've had it in my foamy for 70+ flights with out a problem. The ESC is the same one that I had in the first one, and I'm thinking that's the problem.
I'm just thankful that the plane will be repaired easily. Just don't have the $$$ to replace the elevator/rudder servos... Those 65MGs are 'spendy'. lol
The first crash was 70% throttle into the ground and that would total any plane. This time it was just a cartwheel, and even though there is some damage, I have to say that this is one tough plane! I don't think that any other plane would have taken it this well. Just wish it didn't have to take anything.

Chris, there was a guy flying one on a 3 cell pack at the huckfest on Friday. I did not see it perform, but he thought it did not have the zip a 4S did but it works. You might email Chris Hinson I think he has tried it.

I used a 3s just for setting up my servos, and the motor seemed like it still had good pull just not like the 4s. I bet it will fly it just won't sky rocket like the 4s would let it..

The new 2M Vanquish or the little guy? The new 2M Vanquish was flown on 10S (2 5S packs). Andrew Jesky flew it and seemed to have plenty of power for the FAI sequence he flew.

Yeah, I was a military pilot, but those shake things loose sometimes too. I thought I had everything pretty tight and got two good flights. I've got my theories about what happened, but I'm not sure what I'll do next. My arming switch was ripped off the Airboss 45 which is OK because it originally had a bad connection, too. If I have to get a new ESC, I may just cut the switch out. I want to reduce the number of things that can go bad. I don't think I can take too many more new planes falling out of the sky. I've got other expensive hobbies.

Chris
im using the hacker A30-10L (500 watts) with a 3s 3000mah batt (flightmax $20). getting about 8min depending on flying style. i haven't found the perfect prop for it but im currently using an APC 13x6.5. pulling around 65amps and 700 watts max. i'm also at high altitude so my prop performance is probably alot different than others with this motor at sea level. i didn't plan on pushing it this hard but the plane weighed more than i thought. so far its handling the amp draw just fine, i don't go full throttle unless i need to, which is almost never. performance is just like all the video's of the 4s stock setup, but im 3s swinging a 13" for 3d...
