haha i have a 3/4 ton extended length Chevy Conversion Van with a queen size bed in the back... it also folds up into a 3 person seat. fold that down into the bed and my 40% Staudacher fits in there just fine with plenty of extra room for my 4 other nitro planes and if i pack it just right i have been able to fit my 50% pitts special in there after removing the stab.

Hahahaha, nice Idea Never thought of that. Towing my compy down the Highway.

I have a 1500 Chevy Express Van.
Easily hauls 2-40% planes plus every thing I need to go to Nall. EZ-Up and all. Take middle seats out and never had a rear seat installed during conversion.

Trailer is the way to go; it is there when you need it and not there when you don't. Also mine is a 12 foot long by 6 foot wide and 6 1/2 feet tall trailer thatr holds four 40% or larger planes with a fold down rear door. The best thing is that when you go to a flying meet my double decker system inside the trailler that holds the planes becomes double decker bunk beds for snoozing with the big birds keeping them safe at night at the event; ah I can smell that fuel now!!!!!!

Yeah, nothing says safe like huffing gas in your sleep. lol. I wish I could afford a bigger truck to pull a bigger trailer. Some of the rigs I've seen are great for doubling as a travel trailer with full baths, kitchen, bunks. One day

I think the new record for packing planes should go to Josh (BoneDoc). He has been temporarily assigned from Texas to San Diego. For the drive out here, he fit his 89" Slick, three other planes, all flight accessories, his wife, his two kids, his Mom and Dad, (that's six people!) and all of their worldly possessions needed for a three month stay, in a small mini van. I can't believe he did it. This has to be a new record.

Josh, post a picture if you have one!

Hi
I used to have a gutted out pop up camper, and the first thing I pulled it with was a ford escort, it worked great for me at the time.

Good Luck

I have a 2003 Yukon XL that pulls my 10'Wells Cargo trailer. When the planes come out to fly, I sleep and cook in the trailer. I have my air mattress and bag on the floor. Coleman stove and ice chest up front. Has worked great for the last 15 years. However, the older I get, the more I need a bigger travel trailer. Crummy pic attached.
