There is an area you can pull off the hwy on the East bound lane.
No brilliant landing area though.
I'm keen as to give it go here with a Zagi or similar to get a feel for it.
I just realised I never posted the link. Anyway here it is.

http://www.speedfreeks.com/locations.php

Went for a drive out there after work today. Very nice spot and conditions were ideal to fly from either the carpark or the launch pad. There were a few hang gliders flying also. If you haven't been out there the carpark is right next to Bar Beach at Junction and the launch pad is just up the road at The Hill.

Here's a few pics I took today. Better start building a sloper.

Just behind the Fortress (to the left of the pics) is the DS zone.

Hey Rusty hows the new job going? Just to the left of those last shots is good for a north east wind. My one and only slope experience so far was there

New job is going good. Lots to learn big change coming from the bou's.

I would be keen to give the launch pad or carpark a go in next few weeks if you want to tag along. I only have a little Hyperflea that I could posibably fly there, but not sure how it would go in slope lift. Whats the worst that could happen.

I know there was discussion previously about Subaru Wagons and planes fitting in...Can anyone confirm or deny whether a 2.6 260 would fit in a Holden VE Sportswagon?? Was going to try on the weekend with a demo from a dealer, but was trying to save the hassle if someone already fits one in....I am a bit concerned given that it fits easily in my current VY Wagon and the Sportswagon looks a fair bit smaller....

Does it matter? You have to take it out flying for it to be a problem LOL

Yep I can help. I have a SSv Sportwagon and my comp arf 2.6 extra 260 fits in with the stabs off.
Plane will only go in backwards of course, the spinner just clears the tailgate.
Hope this helps.

Nice spot. I lived in Bar Beach for a couple of years. (A long time ago.)

Big thanks to Richo for sorting out the lift problem on the DA 50. Quick run up yesterday and bolted it back in the Extra. Solid afternoon of flying with no drama's this arv and pulling even better with a bigger prop. Thanks mate!

Does anyone know where I can buy some undercarriage legs for a Quique 85" YAK 54. Broke mine yesterday off a heavy landing. Amazingly strong undercarriage box remained intact while breaking two carbon fibre legs! A quick look at local supplier websites brought no joy.
