Default CF landing gear

Hi guys, I am wanting to buy some CF landing gear for my 33% Extra. Just wondering on your thoughts of where to get them from? Is there a manufacturer you prefer? Thanks...

tnt is the only place, one question he asked me when i went to order carbon gear was if you fly off grass or if you ever make a not so perfect landing-- if the answer was yes then stay with aluminum gear

I ordered mine from RC Supergear. Just don't expect it to show up for at least three weeks. Nice gear, but yes, they do not give a bit. If you bounce one in or or your wheel pant snags a tire, you're going to be rebuilding the bottom of your fuse. Mine twisted after a wheel pant snag and cracked it pretty bad in several places.

I think some guys have been going by older examples of CF gear that perhaps had design problems. I've been running CF gear on 2 100 cc planes for years with no issues. I also recently had a deadstick that ripped off my motor box and CF gear on my 40% Carden. The CF gear still had no damage. By the way, the crash that ripped the gear off was in the grass so you'll be OK with that too. I like the lightened aluminum gear but the CF will be a bit more weight savings. I've had great luck with CF myself.

My gear is less than a year old and they build them as you order. It was only a month old when it twisted. It is tough but they won't take being twisted. Take your c/f gear, grab a wheel, and pull it toward the tail. If it doesn't rip the gear block out of the fuse, it will crack or break.

CF gear looks good, light bla bla bla.........but it breaks. Go with the TNT.

http://www.graphtechrc.com/ CF gear does crack from real hard landings. But my experience says where the CF breaks, aluminum will collapse and cause fuse/prop damage anyway. So you get superior strength and loose a bunch of weight with CF gear.
I use CF for the low bounce factor. Since I break fewer props with them I'm many dollars ahead.
These guy's have a huge invintory of shapes sizes and thicknesses. for instance, I put the GP Giant UCDO gear on my SebArt 30e plane. To do so I ground the legs and mount areas down to match the origional gear. Now I have a gear that will not flex in a harrier landing and break a prop. Graph Tech will grind them to shape for you also, but I can do my own because I have a wet grinder. Don't try to do it with out one, carbon fiber dust is nasty.
