Default Help with power system update

Hello everyone,

I am looking to redesign the receiver/servo power system in my H9 UltraStick 40 and am looking for some suggestions and advice.

I was previously using homebuilt 4.8V NiMH packcs but they all just died after only a year of life, so I am re-evaluating my options.

This is basically what I am thinking for options:

1. 6V NiMH or NiCd pack
2. Lipo with regulator (need reccomendation of good affordable regulator)
3. A123 appeals to me but I don't have a capable charger yet.
4. I don't really know what is available.

I'm running Spektrum 2.4 and Hitec Servos. Servo max is 6V. I need something to be affordable. I'm not working right now (thank you economy) so I'm running a minimal RC budget.

Thanks in advance,

cm
