Default Need help with my DW Yak

Help!

I just purchased a DW Yak 38 and I have everything except a receiver, and charger. I am going to use my JR 72mhz radio for now until I purchase a 2.4 later.

Can anyone suggest a good micro receiver for my JR and a good all around charger that will advance with me in the future??

Currently using a mojo 3s 1000mAh, Dynamo 18amp ESC

Thanks for the help!

as with RX for 72mhz you can't go wrong with a Berg 4 at that size

as for chargers, look into the Thunder Power 610C or the Bantam BC6

they're 6S chargers, and with the right connecting board, they'll charge and balance 2 3S packs at the same time as one big 6S or 3 2S packs at the same time

they also does other types of batteries like Li-ion, Li-fe, NiCd, NiMh

I use an E-station 301 that I got from Extreme Flight. It's a 1-5 cell charger, and it goes up to 5 amps. It's worked very well. There are lots of good chargers out there. The Triton line is also good, as well as the Thunder Powers.

The Berg 4 receiver works well, but you have to use a Y harness. Personaly, I like to set up the ailerons on seperate channels so that I can independantly adjust them. I've been using an old gws 6channel receiver, and it's worked fine. It's about as cheap as they come, but I haven't had a problem with it. It's pretty hard to find a bad one.
Hope this helps. Have fun!

I heard gws have bad recievers that are really glitchy and stuff. I'm using a berg 7p but before that i was using my e-sky 6ch reciever i baught at hobbycity for $10.

as for charger, people on rcgroups are using these http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...r_&_Discharger

Yeah, I need to change mine... A low roller looks better, I just like the scenery.

I didn't say that the gws receivers were good or bad, but I have them in both of my foamies, and haven't had a problem with 'em. I won't buy another one though. I'll probably try the ones from hobby city. All there small foamy stuff is awesome!

+1 for the 610c from thunderpower. I use it with all my car and plane lipos, and it works awesome. It even has a nice "lipo-save" feature in case you get the voltage below minimum.

^I'm on KE :P

As for a charger, get an Accucel-6 by Turnigy from Hobby City. It's a great charger, and it's very simple to use, but is powerful. Can charge up to 6S lipo, 1-15NiXX and 1-10Pb all up to 5 amps. Also has a built in balancer, input voltage sensor, temp sensor outlet, safety timer, and displays charge info on the main screen. All for $38.

As for a reciever, why not try the Corona Synthesized reciever? http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...5&pid=C3291841 $39, 8 channels, and most importantly, NO CRYSTALS! It's also auto shift, so it'll work with JR, Hitec, Futaba, and Airtronics.

^You push the button on it, and it scans for your signal. I believe you have to hold your Tx antenna up to the reciever antenna for it to find your channel, and once it does, it will lock onto that specific frequency.
