Default I knew better...

Background- I started with airplanes and soon transitioned to helicopters. I love both, but time and time again I get burned by trying a new airplane.
Fast Forward- My wonderful wife surprised me with the GP Yak 54 (81" ws) last weekend and I was very excited about having a decent size aerobatic plane in my hanger again. Step one, shrink Monokote- yeah right, try about four hours of chasing wrinkles around. Step two, work on the holes for the hinge pins. Step three, epoxy the pins in place and find this-

Wow. Thats the thing with ARF's. Every part of it is built separately, not like kits that you can put everything together so that it matches perfectly. Too bad for the extra work. You should have cut the covering away from the part you were going to cut off and you coulda used it to cover up what you did. Good luck man!

Yeah no kidding. No offence but you either got the nack to cover or not. Shrinking wrinkles- 10 minutes for a 33% at most.

Have to give credit where it is due- Krashmaster spent 3.97 of the 4 hours working on the covering. He now hates MonoKote, irons, heat guns and pretty much everything at this point

Hindsight is 20/20...
