Default Control surface question

I would like to get some opinion on control surface size.
do you guys think its helpful or a hindrance to have such large control surface's for
precision flying?
It would seem that all large scale planes are designed more for 3d than precision. True or not?

Not!! Each pilot can set up their airplane to their own liking. Look at the full scale planes and they also have large control surfaces. (And don't coment on control surfaces to be to scale!!)

Personally, for precision type of flying, the smaller the surfaces (while maintaining proper authority to do the figures needed of course), would be better. But, I doubt you would be reducing the size of the surfaces much from where they are now, because you still need the authority of the surface.

Large surfaces are used for precision. I use high rate rudder (large rudder) full throw for the top of my hammer-head stalls, and all rolling circles. I use high rate airlerons (large airlerons) full throw for all snaps. We snap up to 14 rotations of snap rolls in a 4 minute precision flight. I use just a little more rate than low rate on elevator for spin entries.

The top pilots in the country attend meets where they have to freestyle with the same plane they fly precision.
