Default Introducing the new 50cc Edge 540 ARF-QB!

Introducing the new 50cc Edge 540 ARF-QB! This completely new offering has been a long time in the making. Aeroworks was the first manufacturer to release an Edge to the aerobatic arf market, ever since we discontinued the original edge we have had many ,many requests for a new design. This new airplane is just that, a 100% redesign of the popular Edge 540 and it promises to be the best flying Edge you have ever flown! This new design incorporates all of the QB features we are known for. The 50cc Edge also includes a full canister/pipe tunnel for easy mounting, and a blind mounted cowling for a great scale appearance.

Be sure to stop by and see the new 50cc Edge 540 at the Toledo expo next weekend!

Wing span 88 inches.
Wing Area 1350 sq. in.

Saw the prototype for this back in Jan when I stopped by the warehouse to pick up another AW plane. It was awesome for sure !! Built light and strong and IMO one of the most "scale" looking Edges out there. The canopy/hatch area obviously comes off for access like other arfs, but the way it looks when closed looks like it might open to the side like the real aircraft. Very nice !!

That is a really nice looking plane. I have never flown an Edge. I would be curious to hear opinons from folks who have flown one as to what the advantages of the edge are compared to the extras and yaks that are so popular. I like the way the edge's look.

I really wouldn't say that there is an advantage to them in fact some folks would say there's a disadvantage to the Edge when it comes to IMAC due to the extremely slow stall speed created by the straight leading edge of the wing. Now on the other hand when it comes to 3D type of flying they are hard to beat.I've flown Extras,Yaks,Caps etc..and my favorite out of them all is the Edge.I'm sure someone will be able to chime in to elaborate on the flight characteristics in more detail for you so keep your eyes pealed for further posts on this tread.

If I'm not mistaken there will be a 100cc version released in a month of two.

Danielph, there will be three schemes released. The only difference being a color difference from the one pictured in this thread.
I personally would like to see a ARC version but I highly doubt we'll see that.

I think (maybe) I remember them stating that there would be an ARC version available....or maybe it was their new P-51...anyway, - I hope the ARC is an option. This would is great, as I stripped and recovered my current new Edge from another manufacturer - it would be a great headstart to have it "bare" to begin with.

Size wise, I believe 50, 100 and 150cc.....oh which one to choose!
