Hey guys, I just got back from the maiden an hour ago and all I can say is "Wow!" what an airplane. Throttled up and it took off straight as an arrow. One click left aileron and one click down elevator and it was hands-off. Inverted requires a breath of down elevator. The C.G. is spot-on a little forward of the recommended 4". The main thing I noticed is how the stable the airframe is. It felt smooth as silk. Rolls are axial and crisp and there is some knife edge coupling that will be mixed in my 12FG in the coming flights. Up lines and down lines are straight and smooth. The keyword is "smooth". I am very pleased!

Are you running the DL55? Which exhaust are you using?

Yep, I'm running a Slimline inverted Pitts made for the DA 50. I'm getting 7200 RPM at the top end and it's still breaking in. Not even a gallon through it yet.

What prop and size are u running? Did you get a AUW? Im just wondering, my dad is looking at getting this plane and it would be his first gasser. So im just curious.

I'm running a Xoar 22x8 now, but in time, I will switch to a Vess 22A. I did not get an AUW, but I'm running Ni-Mhs and the plane flew very light. It almost does not want to stall. IMO, this would be perfect for your dad. From your avatar, you probably know AW quality as well.

this airplane is so great, it can do whatever you want to do(well a friend of mine did cause im noob lol), this is my first gasser and it really makes a difference. Hope to get more pics and video of this baby.

I've been grounded for the past week due to a broken choke rod and propeller. I'm glad it happened on the ground at home and not in the air at the field. As soon as I get my new Vess 23A, I'll be back in the air again. The plane has only had 2 flights so far and it's itching to get more air time.
