You should be running a mineral based oil such as Lawnboy Ashless or Penzoil Air Cooled mixed 32:1 for break in. Run that mixture for 4-6 US Gallons. If you have trouble starting your 50cc for the first time, it's more than likely from sitting in a box or on a shelf for a long period of time. They will all do it if they sit for a while before being run again. The carb diaphram gets dry and stiff. Sometimes you can shoot a squirt or two of gas into the carb, then choke it and flip it about 10 - 20 times until it starts to pull gas on its own. Make sure that the choke closes ALL THE WAY. Watch for gas to start dripping out and watch the fuel lines to see if gas starts to move through. If it isn't pumping gas by then, try opening your low end needle about a half turn. Sometimes that helps, just remember to set it back once it pulls gas. Sometimes you have to take the cover plate off the carb and wet the diaphram with gas. It's the cover without the hole in it. If you still have trouble, get back on here and let us know what you've done and we'll go from there. Your ignition should work with 6V. I run a 5.2V regulator to mine because my 6 volt reg went bad and I'm using Li-ion batteries at 7.2 volts, and that will burn up ignitions. It's probably not an ignition problem though. Mounting the engine upside down is very common and will not effect the way it runs. Most new engines are hard to start for the first time from the diaphram being dry.
