Default <kerplunk> Spektrum DX6

I need another transmitter like I need a hole in the head, but I couldn't pass this one up. This year, The Nall will have a full time foamy area for use only with Spektrum radios. The whole setup is pretty sweet for $179 - I also picked up an extra receiver - I'm shelving the 8103 and using this as my official beater radio from here on out. I am impressed to no end with this product. 'bout time!

Paul, if you're reading this, mad props on the Spektrum line! Pop on in and say hello!

Maxon,

Looks like your practicing for the most junked up workshop photo again mate.

You need to do some serious practice to beat me at the moment just the same.

I done the same. Didn't need it but heck, foamies at the NAll all day. Who could miss that for fun.

heard about guys putting some of these guts in the 6000 series JR radio.....that way you have the spectrum features and the mixing features of both. Not sure where the article was on it though.

Sleepy, there are a few elements missing on this radio such as multi point mixing (only has 3), and rudder expo. Not sure why they didn't build that into the DX6, but since it will be used primarily for foam, it won't bug me.

Has anyone out there converted one of these to say an 8103?

Yea I know - but I was thinking that since it's mainly for PARK FLIERS.... it rocks....pretty hard. But more stuff is always better!

only 179 duckets Max? Everywhere I have looked at them they have been $200. Who's got the deal on spectrum right now?

They must've dropped the price so you could go buy an aftermarket timer to velcro or clip to the Tx like we use to many, many years ago!

Arghhh, that's still my only gripe about this radio. Feels great to not have to wait for any frequency pin at all.

No rudder expo, but you can use a rud to rud mix to get a dual rate.

I know alot of guys dont like the no expo on the rudder... I actually dont use expo/dual rates on the rudder, so I am good to go!

I know they are doing it with the 6102, but I don't know how it would work in an 8103. AMA has even approved the 6102 mod.
