52% ACM Edge make over

I have a 52 % extra I wouldnt put anything less than a zdz 420 my plane is like it is on rails there is no replacement for displacement. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are getting closer and closer. 18 hours straight in the shop/paintbooth. Here are some pics before some touch up and changing of a few lines. Everything has a good first coat of clear and hope in about 6 hours to add a final coat of clear then start stuffing.

I cant belive that they ruined that paint scheme . Have you seen what it looks like know. Did you now Nadime the guy who owned the plane frome OK3 air.

Nice job on the paint Wayne Handley would be so proud I will forward these pics to him. He loves to see raven live on. I am going to his place tomarrow for more training.

I do not know him nor have I seen what they have done with it. I hope they haven't screwed it up too much. That's a shame, the scheme was really nice.

Here are the latest. Two coats of clear and all packed up in the truck ready to make the trip from the paint shop (Pop's Place) back to the hanger (my shop) for stuffing. There are a few runs here and there but nothing that can't be worked on once the clear is fully hardend.

Looks good to me ! I've always wondered how a 300 Extra would look in the Raven Scheme. But I am a single place plane guy so let's see the Edge all together ready to rock !

What a great job you are doing with the airplane. It looks fantastic and will be a great pleasure in the air. The 275 will work just fine for you. The 60% Cubs are coming in at 90-95 pounds with the 275 and people are TR'ing them. The engine put out around 100+ pounds of thrust.

My ACM 52% Edge came in at 75 pounds without fuel and was heavily painted. Also, the 342 engine is heavier than the 275 so alll shold be good with your plane.

I can't wait to get it outside and get some good pictures. The gold and the blue raven have alot of metalic in them that when the sun hits really makes them POP. Bill I was never worried about the 275 having enough power :-) BTW will your carbon tube for the 260 fit this plane. Also any news on spinners for the 260's?

Getting real close now. Only need to matchbox the aileron servos and mount the tank and it will be done. My guess is a full day in the shop just to doube check everything. CG checked out well tonight. Here are a couple pictures from tonight after we got the motor dome mounted up.
