it is a coordinated use of sll the surfaces for wind correction.... no secret formula other than practice....
something as "simple" as a slow roll is actually a challenge to do well, especially in the wind... One of the reasons I LOVE flying IMAC!

Slow rolls are great, Elevators suddenly become rudders and rudders become elevators. And At one point,....There all the same!

sry :S what I meant was that when my model does a slow roll aircraft pointing at the runway (parrel) and the wind is a cross wind the aircraft points itself in to the wind instead at the runway. thnx alan

You have a choice...
You can either point the nose of the aircraft slightly into the cross wind and fly the roll parallel to the runway. OR You can keep the fuselage of the aircraft parallel to the runway and the track of the roll will be blown downwind. (the plane won't track parallel to the runway). Physics says you can do one or the other. But not both. ![]() So it shouldn't be hard to fly the roll with the fuselage parallel to the runway. Just start the roll with the plane pointing that way and fly it like you normally do. Just be aware that you're going to get blown downwind. Tom |
