Hey, I'm not familiar with that plane...got any pics? Personally, I feel that if you have the skill, you can start out on any plane you want.

Starting of on a low wing should have little to no difference from a high wing. If the repairs were done properly I don't think there would be a problem with getting it up in the air. One important thing to remember is if you are learning to fly always have an instructor to guide you and help you with the take offs and landings. It would alot of money and time collecting toothpicks from the ground.

What do you mean by cheap? A 72mHz 4-channel transmitter and standard servos will suit your purpose, however, you may also choose to pony up the cash and buy a nice transmitter now so you don't have to upgrade in the future...

2.4 is a pain if you are looking to really advance.... too expensive... i started out with a futaba skysport 4
but now i have 2.4.... (i still want a decent 72 radio to brouden my band) the futs are pretty inexpensive, and if it's a trainer, standard servos and cheap stuff shouldn't be a problem.... look at the ikarus stuff if you want something cheep.... kudos, and GOOD FLYING!!!!!!! -Extra (BTW, make sure and find a club, they'll get you goin' right )
