my new engine is going into a Seagull 90 Ultimate Bipe. Is this the best power combo ? Is there a better pipe ? anything to look out for ? can it run 30% nitro heli mix ? :6aaa:

I ran the powerbox with and without the baffle. Very little difference in performance. I ran the Slimline pitts(the one made with a tubular look) and could not get the engine to run right through the powerband.
I bought a Bisson pitts muffler and it was like a whole new engine!! I have never run a tuned pipe on one. |

I used one in a funtana S90 with the powerbox and I noticed a big difference without the baffle in the muffler and yes it will 3D awesome with the stock muffler just fly it for a minute to build some pressure or dont fill it all the way. the only time I had a problem was with a new tank of fuel . I always wanted to put a bisson on there cause it is lighter but never did. I dont recommend using 30% nitro. I did it on a 91fx and the power was incredible but it warped the head in one tank of fuel. I always use 20% and it ran awesome. best OS I ever had it never died on me and had great power. I also used a 17x6 zinger and was a perfect prop for 3D but would reccomend a vess 16x6 or 17x6. it weighed 9.5 lbs and had unlimited vertical.

thanks 3D1, thats good info. I got all the servos and electronics mounted today after my heli session this morning. but really looking forward to flying this bipe. I have read a few posts regarding this baffle issue, what type of gains are they ? top end or mid ?

It's a Macs header. Tower sells them. I have the same setup on a 67"
Fusion and it works great. More power than stock muffler. Larry |
