Default Need a 49" range Airframe

Well just when my motor and prop arrived (yes today), my beautiful wife decide to go look for something in my hangar room and guess what? Bye Bye QQ 49" Yak. By "accident" the guitar case fell over the airplane. Got to love marriage!!!!

Anyway, since I didn't got to Fly it (because I was waiting for the motor) what other airframe are there in the 49" range? An Yes I know about Extreme Flight Yak (to much talk about extreme flight lately), no Ofence to the owners. They have great products but I want to hear more options for the gear that I have which is:

1. Rimfire GPMG4620 = 35-35-1200, 666 watts max power (weird max power number, I wounder if it got anything to do with the "accident") (11.1V to 14.8V)

2. Silver Series SS-45 ESC

3. 11.V 2,200 25C Batts

4. HS-82 MG servos.

5. 11X5.5 & 12X6 Props

Airframe suggestion are greatly apreciated... Thanks in advance for the information guys.

Regards,

Hector

P.S. The part that I hate the most is that my Buddies at the field are not going to believe that my wife broke the plane before I maiden it. I love my wife more every friking day..... hahahaha

The 47" Yak 54 is an awesome machine! EF is also working on a 48" Extra 300EXP, and it'll be out of this world!

But, if you're not interested in those, the 3DH Slick 540, and Extra 300SR are pretty nice too. It depends on your flying style. The slick flies like a giant scale plane, but rolls kinda' slow. The SR from what I've heard is a pretty fun plane too, and great for all the tumbling menuvers.

Anyway, there are lots of awesome planes out there. Just figure out what fits your style best.

Have fun, and let us know what you get!
Daniel

I'd check this website. They have several models that could work with your setup.

Thanks guys for the Info. Tank I thought about the 51" Inch Slick but then my batteries would be worthless, and would have to invest in new packs. The economy don't allow me to replace the plane and the Batteries at the same time.
Any of you guys have tried the Cermark 49" Extra 260??? http://www.cermark.com/products/Cerm...2d260-ARF.html

Any more suggestion are more than welcome. It's never bad to have to many options.

Personally I'd rock a Ef plane or a 3DHS plane.
Not saying the Cermark isn't a good plane, but EF and 3DHS planes have GREAT track records.

+1

EF and 3DHS customer service is some of the very best in the buisness. Buy with confidence from them both.

Either airplane you go with are going to be good flying planes, and like everyone said the customer support from both are awesome.

Well Thanks to all. Like I said I was looking at the Slick but the Slick is heavy (50z +) for the batteries, Motor and ESC that I have. If I'm not mistaken it requires 60amp ESC and 14.8V 3,300 mah. And that more money that I have to invest in batts an ESC. By the way thanks Andrew for the info, your comments and involment in this subject.

Great planes are another options but I'm not 100% convince on the flight characteristic of the airplane. Another Option that I'm looking at is the Precision Aerobatics Extra 260 even though is expensive (200$ againts 150$ to 170$ of the others vendors) but what the hell my wife have to pay for it right?? She broke mine in the firts place....Hahaha

Well Extreme Flight People, Interested in Shipping one prototypes to Puerto Rico. I'm more than willingfull to provide a report and I even will pay for the model and it's shipping.

Regards,

Hector

The PA planes are definately worth consideration. Very light & strong, plus they all use the same 1800 - 2200 3 cell packs. I have the Extra 260 and it rocks. I also have an Addiction on the way, but that would be too small your your gear.

BTW - I'm one of those "Extreme Flight people" that you speak about...but PA is my 1st choice in electrics.

Let us know what you decide!

Hola Hector como va todo?! The PA airplanes are awesome, the good thing about all of them is that they all use the same size of battery, 11.1v 2200, check out their website and videos and make your decision! right now my favorite is the Ulimate AMR and Extra 260! The good thing about the PA airplanes is the weight, they are the lightest in its class, this makes them fly "slower" and with a lot of power so if you want to fly IMAC sequences you have a lot of power to do that too! and the feel is more similar to that of a Giant Scale.

Hola Daniel, pues aqui todo bien. I like the 260 in yellow that's the one that I was inclining to. Just because of the weight to WS, and all my gear will work. But I like to ask around.

So my options are (more or less) PA Extra 260, EF Yak (I wish for the Extra but I'm not important enough... haha) or the Ceramark Extra 260 it what my gear can handle. Remember that I'm handicap by the gear that I mention in the first post.

Still open to other ideas. I want to thank all of those that have posted their opinions. Keep them coming. Still have a a couple of day's left.

Regards,

Hector

The PA Extra 260 is one awesome plane for extreme 3D! It doesn't fly as precisely as the EF Yak, but if you like all out 3D, this'd probably be the best choice. I sold mine after 64 flights to fund my new 50cc Extra, but I sure had fun with it!
Here's a video of me flying it in the snow: http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...0&ppuser=18976
Whatever you get from EF, 3DH, and PA, you won't be disappointed!

So it's your opinion (from personal experience) that the FE Yak tracks better than the PA Extra 260. Care to elaborate, please?? (no good lines, snaps poorly, doesn't stop rolling when you want too, to light for mild winds) Another question do you fly your EF Yak in 14.8V or 11.V??
