I agree with pit viper. The Schleicher KA6 Is a true world wide classic. It is a wood and fabric glider, Kind of a J3 Cub of gliders. The 126 is also a great little glider, mostly metal, and almost exclusively American. A wood KA6 ARF I would be interested in owning. The B models had elevators, while the E models had an all flying tail. Either would be great subjects for a big ARF, and much more interesting than the slick, composite, high performance models. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. I did own and have several hundred hours in one of these beauty's in the late 70's

G`Day Bill, I know its been asked already but could we please have some information on the BD-5 please ? Some progress pictures would be great as i`m quite interested in doing a brushless conversion on one and would like to
start planning it if possible. .....and while we are throwing ideas out there ? What about an amazing GeeBee R3 with a Moki 400 in it ? Been done already but bet that would be kick ass !!! |

Some small changes have been made to my plans for airplanes. I have New airplanes arriving hopefully by the end of the year!
These new planes arriving will be: 38% Supper Decathlon (100cc) 58% Supper Decathlon (275cc) 47% Ultimate 20-300 (275cc) 108" WS Monster Edge 540 (342cc) 165" WS 40% Supper Cub (100cc with flaps, 14' WS) 50% KA-6 Glider with 24' WS All these planes are being worked on as we speak!! Due to the physical size of these planes, only a few copies of each will arrive so if you are interested in getting one of these new designs, let me know! This is going to be a cool year and 2010 will even be better! B. Hempel |

Great that you listen in on threads like this and change plans. I really think the KA-6 will have a big market in Europe, a lot bigger than the 1-26 would have had. |

Thank you. After I started research for the 1-26 I found that I just didnt like the looks as much as I did for the KA-6. The KA-6 has a much higher aspect ratio and it just looked more of a clasic glidder, the kind I had in my mind. I am very excited about this airplane and hope to get them here ASAP. I only have (4) arriving and I will take (1) for myself. Hmmm. how many will be left for you? lol Anyone wanting to get on the list for an airplane, just send me an email with your name/address and I will generate an invoice to secure your name in line. You can choose later to cancle if you want. The BD-5 is temporarily on hold until next year. I need to design a retract system befor anything else can happen, ideally it would be great to locate a system that is already an off the shelf product then the plane would be easy to get done. The Super Decathlons: Great airplane and I was already planning on a 150cc one when TBM anounced theirs...... ouch. Anyway, they have a good one now for that size. I thought a 100cc and a 275cc versions would compliment the force in any size a customer would want without being in direct competition with TBM, dont want to go around and make people mad! ![]() More to come...... teamedge@billhempel.com |
