I would glue that motorbox assembly in once you get it where you want it. I glued mine as I didn't trust just bolting it together. I have had one of the early kits and it flew great. As a matter of fact it is still flying four years later with a new owner. I flew it for a year and flew the poo out of it and never had a problem. You will like the plane I am sure.

I really like the black and yellow scheme. Here's a pic of mine. I got tired of seeing the same old classic red, white, blue, and yellow. Not very original but my own little twist.

Well guys, sorry for the slow progress, but I was able to get some more work done on the Yak.
All hinges are glued with Gorilla glue and I started to mount the servos and control horns. ** Note ** there are a left and right side control horn. Make sure you use the horn that makes the house screws fall into the hard section of the control surface. Instead of wood screws in the horns, I decided to bolt and nut the horns all the way through the control surface. Elevator servos get mounted inside the stab. I used Dubro HD control horns on the servo. I am useing Futaba S3305 servos in the elevator ( have them laying around ) but I will up-grade to faster ones in the future. I also opened up the servo horn window some to get more throw. Alonger servo horn would make it reach bevel to bevel, but again, this is what I have laying around. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yep, I have been going a little slow.
I got new servos for all the surfaces. Each elevator and aileron are getting Hitec GS-5645MG's and the rudder is getting a Hitec HS7955TG. Engine is installed, cowl is cut. ![]()

It's been going a little slow.
I have switched servos. Hitec HS-5965MG one each elevator and each aileron. Hitec HS-7955TG on tudder and Hitec HS-6965HB on the throttle. Issue that I am haveing is the stab/stab socket is crooked in the fuse. Putting tail wings on stab tube and it is not square to the fuse and verticle fin. It is off by 1/2"-5/8". This is an issue that I will be fixing/working on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks great! I am anxious to hear how this plane works out. I like the army scheme with these colors. That was a great idea.

I'm looking at this plane to possibly be my first gaser, was curious how you fixed the stab that wasn't square?

this kit looks like it may be the old extreme flight yak? if so does it have the ef yak problem of the wing or stab (cant remember which) incidence being off?
