I have Hacker A30-10XL, 70A ESC and 4 Hitec HS-65MG servos and 3S batteries. I like AJ Slick, but 3S might be not enough. HS-65MG are not suitable for it and recomended servos will be useless in future. I don't want to make my personal servo collection
. For now I think of buying 3DHOBBYSHOP SU-26 49" or Sebart SU-29 30, which are very similar in weight and recomended setup. Which one do you think is better buy ?

I own both the Slick and the Su-26 from 3d Hobby Shop, and I have flown the Sebart.
If you want my pick between the two Sukhois it would be the 3D Hobby Shop. It is lighter, has better hardware, and flies better. With that said... Don't count the Slick out. I have flown mine on 3s and it rocks! 4s gives you crazy power, but 3s will give you decent pullout from a hover and it flies stupid light! Yes you need 4 HS-85mg servos, but it's worth it. Matt |

I have the sebart sukhoi 50e, and I havta say I cannot imagine much better hardware. The covering is fantastic, hardware is the best ive ever seen from an arf. it is the first time I have used all of the supplied hardware and no addons. PLane is unbelieveably smooth and precise. Ive heard 3s batteries are perfect for it, especially with the hacker motor. I believe that is the recommended motor from sebart. I would go with the sebart in a heart beat.

I have a Sebart 30e Sukhoi. I've no experience with the 3DHS planes.
The SebArt was the 4th plane in a search for a good e-plane. It is very good. It couples a bit in KE but after mixing for the coupling it holds KE best of the planes I tried. Almost to the point of doing a lazy KE loop. High Alpha rolling is as easy as a foamy and that was what I wanted, an every day 4 flights after work dependable 3D'er. Hear is how mine is set up, Hacker a30-xl.... nothing smaller will work and I tried a few motors but the Bats. heated up. Castle Phoenix 45 amp esc. Perfect for the Hacker. Mine peaks at 44 amps. Your 76 amp will work but be a bit over weight. 3S lipos 2100 to 2500 for 8 to 12+ minute flights. HS 65 on ailerons. Fut S3156 dual on split elevators. My first plane bit the dust when the single Hs65 mg on elevator died. Only need to learn that lesson once. I don't think you could balance it with two hs65mg servos in the tail without having to shove the Battery way up into the nose. Fut s3002 on pull pull rudder. Needed pull pull to balance the twin elevators. A single hs65 will not be strong enough and it will get blow back and barely hold KE. You could use the two hs65mg for dual servo pull pull on rudder. Xoar 14x7 wood prop. Plastic props are too heavy and cause too much torque loads on the motor shaft. Stick with wood. I also got a CF gear from GraphTech. It is for the GP Giant UDO, I cut it way down to be the same weight as the stock gear. The CF gear doesn't flex much and props last much longer. I used what I liked of the hardware and where I felt theirs was wrong I didn't no biggy. The plane flies nice with neutral upright/ inverted cg. I go from it to my EF 88" Yak and find them very similar. But of course the Bigger plane flys so much better. It also flys much higher. Good luck and enjoy which ever you choose. |

My Sebart FUNTANA 140S is without a doubt the best quality ARF I ever assembled... and the covering doesn't require constant reshrinking!!!
Might have better parts availability with the 3DHS... Ther Sukhoi 26 looks awesome..... the Sukhoi 29 looks like Man-Ass... IMHO |

You'll do well with either
FWIW, you can fly the Slick with 65MG. 3DHS went with 85MGs because Andrew managed to strip the 65MGs. However I've had my Slick for about a year now (preproduction model) with 65MG. I've yet to strip mine, and I do fly her very hard. So all your gear can be made to fit the Slick with only little mod to make the servo fit. |

51" Slick is still as an option. I think nothing bad will happen if I will install 2 HS-65MG on ailerons and leave another 2 as a spare. Thank's everyone for your tips and opinions, which are very useful. I will keep thinking. Last edited by freezer; 04-28-2009 at 12:10 PM. |

Just a little update...fedonaircraft.com is having a special on the sebart sukhoi 30e. If you buy it from them, you get 4 free servos and free shipping. Just letting you know, it is a flying giants only special!

Today I'v tried to fit assembled Sebart 30 suklhoi in my trunk, and it is 1-2mm too long to get through trunk doors on BMW 3 , AJ Slick is a bit shorter, should not have any problems with that. Also we have quiet a lot of Sebarts as we have local distributor. And Sebart does not have canopy latch (friend has ripped wing cover open when canopy was ejected during the flight, installed latch after that ) and Sebart has realtive weak landing gear. So I have allready ordered 3DHobbyshop AJ Slick, as I suppose it will be more interesting model then 3DHS Su-26.Sebart has realy nice models, if compare Sebart to Extreme Flight I would definetly go with Sebart, because of quality and construction (I know that both of theese are being made at one factory and that keeps surprising me). Never seen any 3DHOBBYSHOP models, but I think I will not regret that I have ordered one. Even if it is not going to be better it shouldn't be much worse, but it will be possible to get it inside my trunk, and 3DHS is something that you can't se around here, I think that it will be nice replacement for Extreme Flight yak 47,5". Thanks everyone for the info. And sorry for my bad english .

What happens with heavy plastic props is when in a maneuver using hard rudder like a tight rudder turn the torque flexes the shaft through the motor. Pops the cannopy off every time I did it. Well, I actually only did it once and gave the APC away. The plane vibrates more with a heavy prop. Try a wood Xoar sometime and You'll see.
