Chris, The SM 1/6 F-16 is my dream jet. It's so freaking big!

Greg, thanks! Are you still flying at SCCMAS after work?

Hey Dantley, I've not been to SCCMAS for some time. Unfortunately, I am dealing with a terminal illness in my family and I've needed to put the planes on the backburner for the last 6 weeks. My Yak has been ready to maiden for quite some time now so hopefully I will be able to get back to RC this summer in full force. I'll let you know.

Greg

It looks just like the full scale one sitting on the ramp outside my office.

Greg, sorry to hear about the illness in your family. I'm looking forward to flying with you this summer!

Japan3D, that makes sense given the full scale plane is stationed in Japan. Have any pics?

The big 1/6 F-16 is one sweet model! Awesome with the P-160.

Hey Dantley!
Nice looking jet, I'm jealous! I just maidened my F/A-18C Hornet a couple of weeks ago. OK, it's made of foam (flying beer cooler), is an EDF so it's slow, no comparison to yours. Still it is fun to fly, and looks cool with retracts and all. But hey, my jet does rolling circles, does yours? LOL!

Is that the same F-16 David Shulman is flying? I saw he had a big F-16 in the thunderbirds scheme.

The one Shulman flies is a kit from damn slipped my mind. Its about 4 times the cost, 50 times the work and a thing of true beauty not that the SM 16 is a slouch. The SM is something you can take out and fly as a weekend plane. Shulmans is a contest bird.

One of these years I'll finish up my 1/8 F-16. I did finally order the remainder of parts I need but I have no time to do anything with those parts.

Sam, get that F-16 done! It's a nice break from hucking!

The Scale Jets F-16 is AWESOME! Wish they would offer that as an ARF. LOL

Steve - who makes your F-18? I'm looking for a foamy Hornet.

I got this one in the Diamond Viper color scheme, as an Airframe only kit so I could modify it the way I wanted. The ARF, and Ready to fly versions seem to have a lot of trouble with the lower quality electronics. Set it up with a good quality 6S battery, quality 90mm EDF power system, good metal gear servos, do some reinforcement to the wings, add rudders, and you will end up with a very nice flying plane. It will only take about 10 hours to build with all of the mods. They are coming out with a Version 2 that might be better as it incorporates most of the changes I made. This is a big foamy at 60" and flies very light, my guess is you could fly up to 8 Cells in it with no problem as far as wing loading goes. Not sure how foam would do with the speed of that setup though.

The Airframe only, includes EDF but you won't use it in 6S setup, and includes retracts:
