Ok guys before I get any attacks I know that these questions have been asked before but I could not find the answers..... I purchased the whole shibang from PAU ....how could I pass on the offer, and should be receiving all tomorrow....yes even the Hydro !!!!
I have a pretty good deal through tower hobbies to get 60 bucks off for a purchase of more than 300 and I would really like to get all the electrics ie motor, esc, battery, servos, receiver and prop. I have no knowledge of electrics and do not understand all the fancy numbers you guys are using so please consider me completely ignorant on the subject and tell me what I need to end up with a light weight kick a$$ 3D beast (at least for the mini and fun Yaks) and just a flying Hydro. It would be ideal for me if I could buy all from tower hobbies as I am living in UAE and purchasing from multiple places costs me an arm and a leg. I would really appreciate if only those with on hand experience tell me what to buy as I am already confused enough as it is..... ![]() Thanks in advance !!!! |

Everyone's sleeping in the U.S. man. Check back in 6 or 7 hours and I'm sure someone on FG will help you out.

Thanks for the input, I have gone through those threads and find it rather confusing.
Maybe I'm just lazy but I need to best setup that can be bought from tower hobbies if possible, if not then I will just have to shop around from different places. Anybody buy the Hydro ?? |

I will help but PAU doesnt list the flying weight of the three products. let me know the weights and I will give you my thoughts. I think I know the weight of the mini yak but the fun yak and boat I need a weight to help you out.

Check the last couple of pages of the mini Yak one, seems like the E-Flite Park 480 with 11.1V 1345 mAh LiPo's 12x6 prop and around a 36 A ESC run the best.
This is what I started out with in mine: E-flite Park 480 BL Outrunner 1020 Kv Castle creations Thunderbird 36A Brushless ESC Flight power 2170mAh 11.1v Li-Po battery Futaba R617FS 2.4GHz FAAST Hitec HS-55S servo's all around APC 12x6 electric prop The only change was the battery, which I went to the Flight power lite 1345 11.1V LiPo. This still gave tons of power, still with in the Amp's drawn and are lighter than the other ones I had in there. I would not go any less than these battery specs. Check out post 80, it talks about the different batteries that he has tried and give a report on them, also there was a post for Rhino 1500 packs that worked well. If I were to do it over again, the only change I would make would be to use Futaba 3114 or the HS-65's. There are a couple of other motors (Hacker A30-28S) mentioned that sounds like it would work great as well. Hope this helps you out.

hi, i assembled my bme/pau min yak about 2 weeks ago
i use a scorpion 2215-18 with a apc 10x5 on 3s. it is a 1130 kv motor http://www.innov8tivedesigns.com/pro...products_id=36 they have a cross referance chart at innov8tive where i got the motor im not sure if any are sold at tower or axi 2217/16 1080 kv himax hc2816-1220 hacker a20-20l 1022 kv torque 20/1030 here is the tower link for axi http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPPW3&P=7 no direct cross referance for rimfire which i think tower sells as well would assume 28-30-1250 if you use rimfire subnote. i use my 3s 2300 and 2650 since it is what i have way too much battery imo easily get 10 min full throttle flights on these packs with my cell pro telling me i still have 40-50 percent "gas" in the pack so if i were to get pack specific for the plane i would probably shoot for 1800 ish range to lower down a.u.w. of the plane

I suggest using a battery around the 1300 to 1500 mAh 3S. Seems like the best overall performance for the plane as well as keeping the weight down and you still get good flight times (15min+).
