Hi everyone !!! I have a dilema !! I just bought an Extra 260 42% from AW, I will use 2 servos 8711 on each aileron, 1 per elevator and 2 on rudder, I just sold my old 9303 because it was originally on 72 mhz, what do you thing will be better? a 9303 with 3 matchboxes, or a 12X using the matchbox funtion, the difference between those radios $$$$is considerable, so tell me wich system will work better in your expirience?? by the way, the reciber I will use is the 9100, thanks!!!

Well it kind of boils down to your budget as the 12X is a really nice radio and I have no regrets about upgrading to it from my X9303. Buying Matchboxes does bring the price tag up a bit for an X9303 compared to the 12X but it's still a lot.
If you do decide on Matchboxes, I think you're going to want to look into powering them independently as those big JR servos could pull as much as 4 amps each so running power for two of them through a single servo lead may be a problem. |

As Zeeb said, it comes down to money. You can fly your plane with a 9303 with matchboxes, so that problem is solved. The 12x gives you much more flexibility, but at a larger cost. I've owned a 9303 and 12x and used both on 40%ers. I only "needed" the 12X when I started flying jets for wheel brakes, air brakes, crow, gear, etc.

Either.
The only limitation is money. I love my 12X. |

Get the 9303 and matchboxes. It's cheaper and it is better to split a signal running to two servos as close to the servos as possible instead of relying on two separate channels throughout the entire Tx/Rx RF data path. DSS is pretty robust but it is not perfect. BTW, SmartFly has the Equalizers that do what the Matchboxes do at about half the price.

Let me summarize... If you have the money get the 12x, if not stick with your 9303. It is as simple as that.

I love my 12X as well, only had it for a week now but the programming I think is more logical than my previous 10X although for the most part very similar.
Just curious as to why people choose to go with Matchboxes instead of a power system? Not trying to say they're not good but would like to know the reasoning since I just LOVE my Smart-Fly EQ6T.
