Default IMAA Rally of Giants 2009

Hey Gang,

It's just over a month away and I was curious who's going. Let's hear it. Give a shout out if you'll be in PA for the rally.

Rally of Giants

Happy Landings

If its IMAA then most likely its IMAA reqs....

The concept of large or giant scale is generally considered to apply to radio controlled model aircraft with minimum wingspans of eighty (80) inches for monoplanes and sixty (60) inches for multi-wing aircraft. Ducted Fan and Turbine aircraft with one hundred forty (140) inches combined length and width, measured from wing tip to wing tip at the widest point perpendicular to the fuselage and added to the length of the fuselage, excluding any protrusions. Autogyros with 50 inches for a single rotor, 80 inches for a dual rotor. Quarter (1/4) scale replica's or larger with proper documentation (minimum 3 view drawing of an actual person carrying aircraft) which do not fit the size requirements will be permitted. However, the concept does not encompass radio controlled model aircraft so large as to have the potential of carrying a human being.

Thats a good question Mith. I would like to know the answer to that myself. I just assumed that with 3d being so popular it was a givin. I can say its a really nice field with plenty of wide open spaces with great scenery. The north east holds an imac there every year, we have one coming up this weekend there too. You thinking of driving all the way from the high desert or what?

The rally is in Hmaburg, PA. I am sure 3D pilots are wanted. I am a 3D guy my self. I dont know if they are going to have area just for 3D. It should be a fun time the club is working really hard to make this event fun successful. Below is the link for more information. http://www.farviewflyers.net/ I was told is a great place to fly, I think its an old golf course.

You would be correct Josh. Its one of the best fields I have ever flown at. Very flat and wide open.

I have on occasion seen organisers dedicate 45 minutes, two or three times a day specifically for 3D only.... the 3D guys can kinda direct themselves.. so this also gives the Line Bosses a break from doing warbird traffic control....

When I first replied.... I thought this was the IMAA event formerly held at the castle AFB in central california.... so I will be unable to attend..

I was born in Pa too.
