Your dad has concerns that only Mark & Tim can answer. I just don't mind making the arrangement's on what we all come up with but Mark told me how the events are are done in the past and I was told to run with it by him. That's all I know. I just don't want to get into all the politics any more, at all Been their, done that! As far as monkey, He called and said he wants to fly again and get out of the house

Ron,
No one has peed on my turkey. One thing I want to make perfectly clear....no politics here. Like I said before, the idea is great if it would be the 2nd Annual TUFF GIANT SCALE & 3D JAMBOREE. I do know what it takes to put on an event, even the realitively small event we put on last year. If you haven't read the first page of this thread, I think its almost the number one event site on Flying Giants. I personally think we could work off of that, and not redirect it, unless its redirected to a 2nd Annual TUFF GIANT SCALE & 3D JAMBOREE thread. Again, the question is what is the deal with monkey? Maybe I haven't been taking the responsability of keeper as seriously as I should have. My action of traveling with the monkey deciding if we get promoted with a TUFF monkey thread? What? I'm all for a laugh, but come on. I need to buy a monkey bus ticket back to Dallas. Last edited by jswink; 11-26-2009 at 09:44 PM. |

Well i didn't think it would take this long to say it but finally after 2.5 yrs the funtana has hit the ground. The best part is a 4 dollar gear set for a servo and a few drops of CA later i will be flying it again. Also i recommend them little cheezy eflite spinners with the pop off front saves the shaft almost every time. And towards the bigbird, my 20 dollars goes to Tuff to pay for the annual lease and even if someone takes a leadership role to make the event happen its still a club event and can only hope for a thankyou. And for the name i think 2nd Annual TUFF Big Bird&3D Jamboree

The Giant Scale & 3D Jamboree is a name that I pulled out of thin air for the Dallas event that hasn't had a name of the same, It's getting more and more popular for CD"s to try to call their events by different names and have different fun challenges so their recognized by pilots & sponsors for the future.
TUFF has had a big Bird and that's what the event was called. I may be way of base here, however I would like to continue the Giant Scale & 3D Jamboree by hosting it with a club that appreciates the labor and the dedication that it takes to have a good show and not let it die because of lack of workers as was the case here. Their was only 2 other member beside myself that showed up to work it out of 12 people that signed up to help work the advertised 3 day event that turned out being 5 days of pure headache for me as the CD with trailers coming in during the week. That is my only reason for them not to host the Giant Scale &3D Jamboree this year. I told Mark that I wouldn't mind having it at different clubs each year kinda like the Waco field hosted the Rally of the Giants this year and last year it was at a different field & Mt. pleasant hosted the Mini IMAA event this year and was hosted by a different field last year. One of the Huck Fest up north this year was a at a different field. All hosting field did a great job hosting these events I might add. Their called traveling events. What I talked to Mark about was just this very same idea more or less & the TUFF club can host it in 2010 if we choose and he said yes run with it, I asked what was needed, a meeting or just what. He is the one that said Na it's normally just handled by the CD for the direction of the event and just run with it It's not all on Marks shoulders though, he just seen the opportunity, y'all may not. I think your problem is that it's the holidays and only Mark and I talked & he talked to Tim and their hasen't been time to talk about it at the field as Mark said most meetings are just general deccussions between everyone at the field flying and having fun. If we all decide as a club, we want to host it again in 2011. again if we coose too, it's all up for discussion and on the table for YOU GUYS TO CHOOSE. Forget that I'm involved- It could be any one that contacted the TUFF Club to ask if they wanted to host the Giant Scale & 3D Jamboree event that I gave birth too and the yes the hosting club receives the income, " I can't even believe that had to be said" but you did ask a direct question. Theirs no one saying that the Giant Scale & 3D Jamboree replaces the 2nd annual TUFF's Big Bird event, it's just the date that Mark came up with. But if you keep on, Theirs 2 other clubs that really want and needs the income and is willing to go the extra mile, No sweat for me and they even offered to pay for my motel for the event dates. I contacted the TUFF Club because I want to contribute to the club's continued success, one that care's about having fun, BTW it can't be be called a 2nd annual TUFF Giant Scale & 3D Jamboree because their hasn't been a 1st named of that at TUFF, but you never know what the future holds. Mark said Ron You have the ball, then we set the date because he said that many was busy during the 1st weekend of the month and at that time, we was only choosing a month. If you all choose to host the Giant Scale & 3D Jamobree Just choose a different month if our Big Bird is on that date, no sweat man. Whats the big deal here? everyone has an opinion and Marks was that date and I ran with it. Mark said that I didn't have to spell everything out and to run with it because that's how it been handled in the past here. I know that Mark is not a fib teller and a real stand up kinda of guy. Yall just let me know. Jed, As far a Monkey, I never talked to you about Monkey, not one bit, not at all, not one time about his past and all the places that Monkey been to and the laughs he has brought over the years. Mark, Sammy and a few other their know how much fun he is at events, I was only razzing Sammy as we all did about his spelling.. Lighten up ! He's just to much fun to hang with, he's hip and his secrets goes no where. He's just fun and that's what TUFF is all about Right? Lighten up !

Uh oh...Maybe I am in trouble now...I am not sure but after reading through all the last few posts it seems there may be some contention about the "name" of our next big bird...err...giant scale...err... 3D jamboree... HMMM… Just wondering, if Maybe we might bill the event something like "TUFF Club presents the second annual Giant Scale & 3D Jamboree" since, if I am not mistaken, it will be a collaboration that marks the second year event for both...kinda fitting I think...anyway, what does it matter what we call it... I’d really hate to see any silly pettiness
screw stuff up as happens so often in other clubs …a team effort is the TUFF way! …FWIW Ron threw out a couple of other possible names...I told him it matters little...let's just get it on...you got the ball run with it! Isn't that how we usually do things???Ron also indicated that as a CD he wanted to sanction the event...and he had to submit a few dates to see what was available but since that time of the year was kind of already slated for a bigbird/3D type event, I simply suggested that time frame might be good...and indicated that we would get behind the effort in our usual fashion of get-r-dun style but if others would like to do otherwise that is perfectly fine…we can work it anyway you guys want. I apologize for not getting to everyone about what we, Ron and myself had discussed so far, so that all of us could all get on the same page but since this was a very recent proposal/ discussion and due to the holiday and other things I just hadn’t got around to discussing it with very many others… but I did discuss it with Tims, the club president. I think this forum thread would be a good place to plan and compare notes and be sort of a clearing house for this proposed event as well as other things of interest to us all. This way we can all be on the same page about everything…sound ok to you guys? One thing we need to keep in mind though, sometimes the printed word doesn’t convey humor or intent well and sometimes things can easily be misinterpreted…so let’s just be aware of that…emoticons are highly recommended …Nolan can help those less experienced out on the proper use… LOLLast edited by littlecrankshaft; 11-27-2009 at 04:09 AM. |

Ron, Just caught this... Not sure but you seem to imply you feel we may not be "going the extra mile". We need to get something real straight, right now. If you are looking for some special acclimation/recognition for putting on this event you are going to be sadly disappointed….as there have been many others before you that have gave selflessly… The TUFF club does not work that way. Now, if just helping us to put on the flying event for the sake of having a great time isn't enough...by all means go to one of the other clubs that will "go the extra mile". I hope you do not take this the wrong way and you shouldn’t if your intentions are less than self centered but here at the TUFF club no one gets special recognition or treatment… Bottom line. Sincerely, Mark |

Well the extreme flight 48" exp is no more! Had an altercation with a stadium light tower. About 5 seconds of shock followed by laughter. Wish I could have posted a video of it. It really was kind of funny!
