Default 8103 question

I bought a used 8103 and looks to be in great shape, my question is should I send it in to JR to have it looked over or not, also this is my first computer radio and it didn't have a manuel with it, can I get another one from JR, I looked on their site and you can read through 147 pages on adobe reader, but my computer can't handle that and thats just a royal pain, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx, MikeyJ ,the newbie

If more than 4-5 years old I would have it checked out. You should send to to Horizon Hobby as they are the rep for JR. It has a lithium battery for memory back up. If this battery dies you lose everything you have stored. They say it will last 5 years , there is an on screen indicator that will flash showing its on its way out. Call horizon Hobby and see if hey can sell you a new manual. It would help you with understanding all the programming. I have this one and love it!!! Good luck!!
