I am running the DA 85 with greeve tune pipe and 26x12 prop. this thing has crazy power. I will be finishing the year out with this plane in the advanced class. It looks very promissing for IMAC, i know it will 3D good cause thats all my first one seen. I will have some pictures up tomorrow and try to get some vedio this weekend.
I think I may need that too, noticed a lot of pull towards the belly. CG is on the ming wing tube just aft of the center line. Will also move that back a tad before changing the thrust lines - the 100cc pulls it also to left on an up line.

Will fly it again when these winds are gone as to get a proper assessment. Oh, and the final weight is 25.5 pounds with 106 and cannisters. Considering also to install mufflers which will probably get her close to 24 pounds.

tsmeiman, on the thrust both of my 300's i used the wooden spacer's that come with the kit. I am not sure how many it tuck to space the motor but i know that i used one more spacer on the bottom than the top and that gets it pretty close. It may just be the 85 too, Please let use know how much it takes to set your 100cc

Congrats guys on the maiden flights. We've got Forrest Extra 300 pretty much dialed in. Unfortunately (or fortunately for our country), he's been pulling a lot of AF Reserve duty lately so he's missed a lot of IMAC season.

25.5 lbs with a 106 and pipes is an amazing weight! Very cool.

You did what? Flew and filmed at the same time, on the maiden flight?

I completely withdraw my criticism of your video - because your an !

No, that was a bit of sarcasm
At the end of the video it says who the cameraman is and that he was nervous, very much so. It was done with a Sony HD hand cam - it trips everyone who are not cool with the zoom function.

TX, Mike - must say it can handle much lower speeds than my CA 330 - Oh and that CF gear is tough, really tough.

Bradley, I'll first move the cg back and see what she does. At the moment I am busy to get all the gremlins out of my Katana, which was also maidened not too long ago, but will post when i have done so.

I guess if you had a helmet cam mounted on your head you could film while flying! LOL might need to hook a servo to that zoom function though. LOL

Sounds like you need to get another one or just steal the transmitter from your buddy so you can fly your old plane!

On a side note Forrest just switched his radio over to the Hitec Aurora 9 and flew at the Cincinnatti Chicken Wing event this past weekend without a hitch! Awesome programming on the A9 and very responsive feel to it. I think he's in love with it!

Tx, for the usefull info Mike - yes alternative products are making huge inroads lately which is good for our pockets also.

I will sadly miss the Extra, but a huge smile on a friends face is priceless - and I'll give my arm and leg for that 150cc Raven

Regards

Like my dad said we just got the new Hitec A9 in on thursday just in time for the Chicken Wing. And I have to say this thing is very responsive and now have like 14 flights on it in the OMP Extra. The plane has like 150 flights now. The live telemetry is worth its weight and gold. This radio has been tested in all the big shows, Joe Nall, IRCHA (Me and Justin Jee), and at E-fest. I have included a pic of how i have the recieiver set -up in the plane
