Rob

That explains quite a bit.

i will be glad to focus on 50cc kits if the demand is there. the issue here is they will be just about the same price as a 35% kit. the materials to include are basically the same. the kits would be as same as the arf if not more because the china connection wouldn't be involved.

again, if the demand is there we will gladly make the customer happy..... it's just going to be financially similar to a 100cc kit.

thanks for the interest guys!!

Thanks for being up front on that. I personally would be interested in a 50cc kit or two, but since it would be near the price of a 50cc ARF, not sure how your market would be. To me, the 50CC is still a lot cheaper to build than the 35%'er, and a lot easier to transport for some of us, plus we get build and covering options.

I would like to have a nice, USA made kit option in this size, but there is probably a reason that the other companies are shifting toward even larger sizes.

Default Re: Aerotech R/C Models is BACK!

the arfs have the market share in the 50cc size due to the price. i realize that several people just like to build and don't want an arf. we would love to satisy those folks if possible. we are difiniitely open to suggestions at all times. for now, we are focusing mainly on 100cc plus size kits as those are still able to be produced and sold at a competitive price. i can guarantee that if we came out with a 50cc kit that "costs" us only about $50 less to make than our 100cc kits and we priced them accordingly, $50 less than the 100cc kits, there would be more than a handful of people that would flame us for being ridiculously expensive.

we'll research the options and keep everybody posted. once again, we wish to bring to market what our customers are excited about buying! we WILL listen.

Ok guys... Update time!

I'm headed back to Florida to pick up the remainder of the Aerotech assets this weekend. I'll be back to Iowa the middle of next week and we may even be able to have a few kits ready and present at the June Huckfests!!!! Now, keep in mind that it will still take us quite a while to have all of our line up "in-stock" and ready to ship instantly. We are working on getting a good number of the airframes that have been the most requested ready for immediate shipment. When open, we will certainly be taking orders on all of our designs mind you, but some may not be "sitting on the shelf". We aim to be able to package and ship all orders faster than any of our competitors and many of our products will be shippable next day!

We appreciate all of the calls and "attempts" to pre-order!!! lol! I promise, we'll be ready to accept your orders very soon! I hope that everyone that we have told that we were NOT accepting pre-payments on things understands why. My partners and I feel it wouldn't be good business to take anyone's money without a set delivery date! We want to do this the right way and to do it for a LONG TIME!

We'll keep everyone posted on this and other threads and forums! See you at the field!

You may lose a few customers now with no preorders but you won't get complaints online from pushing your opening date back (if you had too) and you will def gain customers once this things hits the road speeding!

Keep us all updated.

Question, that DA-150 left cylinder looks like is very close to the cowling side. How much space is in between them. I'm wondering is a DA-170 would fit?

By the way I like how neat you finish the electronics on that bird.

Regards,

Hector

Many thanks about the finish on the electronics. There is about 1/8 clearance on the left cylinder between the spark plug boot and the cowl. The DA170 should fit, it only 1mm wider.

Beautiful plane Paul!!! That looks GREAT!

We are getting closer and closer to being ready for business. We are currently building up our stock to be able to have product ready to ship when ordered. We are making the necessary adjustments on our website and will have that up and running by month's end.

We definitely appreciate everyone's patience as we are getting this going. As we said in the acquisition announcement, we will not open up until we are 110% ready to service our product in a prompt and proper fashion and we are almost there.

The first run of kits will include the 300 Midwing in both 100cc and 150/170 sizes, the all new Extra 330 SC in the 100cc and the 150/170 size, the all new Edge 540 in both sizes, the Sukhoi Su26 in 3 sizes and the Yak 55 in 3 sizes! We will be following these up with our 44% Giles 202, the Yak54 in the 3 sizes and our 92" Chipmunk.

We have changed a lot of things with the Aerotech company since our take over. As said in the announcement article, we are now including carbon tubes and even carbon wheel pants! We will now be offering a complete "nuts and bolts" package from Fastenal. All of our fiberglass parts will now be done above all industry standard and will be more solid, have less pin-holes, and will be stronger and lighter than ever before. Our canopy lexan will be stronger and clearer with a better finish than the days of old and ...... FINALLY....

We are now offering our kits with no "burn marks"!!! That's right, we are now able to offer a fully CNC'd kit with the same tremendous tolerances and no "burn sanding" necessary! If you have built any laser cut kits in the past you will know that the tolerances are awesome and the fit is terrific.... BUT.... The glue just doesn't adhere to the burnt portion of the wood very well at all. It is necessary to take valuable time and sand these surfaces to get proper adhesion... Well, NOT ANY MORE! We will still be able to produce and offer the laser cut kits but we are assuming that the "building population" out there will greatly appreciate the CNC product that we are generating. These parts can be shipped while still in the sheet for maximum safety and damage control or we will have an option where we remove the pieces from the sheet and package them as you'd be used to receiving a laser cut kit. By delivering the CNC cut pieces to you "in the sheet" we insure saftey, simplicity AND MOST OF ALL.... We insure that ALL PIECES ARE INCLUDED!!!!! No more getting the plane with some of the cut pieces missing! Due to the CNC process, each piece will hace a small (maybe 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch) tab holding them in the sheet. These tabs will need to be cut off when the pieces are removed. They can be zipped down with sand paper or an Xacto knife, what ever the builder chooses. We will gladly do this for our customers if they choose to have the pieces not delivered still in the sheet! I like the idea of all of the pieces still in the sheet and removing them upon the need to install them! I personally would misplace a lot less pieces that way!!! LOL!

Our foam pieces will now be done by CNC machine as well! We will be providing the most consistant foam cuts on the market and there will no longer be room for human error when cutting wings and stabs, etc. This is a little more expensive for us but the results are simply tremendous!

Well, these and many other minor changes will allow us to deliver you a tremendous product! One that is simple to build and one that flies better than ever before! Be it that all of the manufacturing of these kits is being done right here locally, we have complete control of both the quality and the turn around time on every facet of our kits!

Those of you that know us already understand that we will refuse to send out a product we aren't completely satisfied with and our porduct needs to be one that we are PROUD to have our personal names associated with! Those that we haven't gotten to know as of yet will soon discover this when they build and fly one of our kits! Again, thanks for the patience... It'll be WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!!

More to come.... VERY SOON!!!!

Sounds like a large price increase from the old Aerotech days. Of course the quality sounds better and the no missing parts is a plus.

Can't wait for you guys to open up though.
