They are kits.......so they are built wherever you build them at. They are being CNC'd/lasered in the ole USA though.

you'll be surprised at the supposed "price increase"!!! the new product and the service backing it would definitely justify a HUGE price increase to bring it up to the same level as the competition... BUT.. we are convinced that if we offer a kit superior to the competition and a slightly lower price, we'll sell more than enough to make this a justifiable investment of our time and funds.

the kits that were listed for $900 something before had aluminum tubes, no nuts and bolts etc... i purchased 2 42% 300 midwings from the old owner before buying the company to inspect the product from a retail paying customer's perspective and like all of the previous customer have done... i chose to have the aluminum replaced with carbon, the good stuff... not the delaminating type, and by the time i included the nuts and bolts, etc necessary to finish i was l little over the $1100/ea mark. that was still less than the competition then and we will not be much different than that in the future. we will be the world leader in instructional and tutorial guidance with our newest addition to the kits that will be public knowledge in the near future! this would justify a couple hundred dollar price increase all in itself...BUT, we aren't increasing the kits that much. i can assure everyone that our margins are now smaller than the previous owners and we are fine with that. once again, this in not a venture that we are planning on "Getting rich" from ... we are just wanting to have some fun and we are already at most of the major events across the country each year... why not have the funds necessary for that be a business expense!!! LOL

not only are these kits done here in the USA, they are done in our backyard right here in iowa! with all of the industrial background and tooling capability we have at our fingertips from our other businesses we are able to keep all of the manufacturing right here at home!!!!!!!

i can assure everyone out there that it will not take long to have our product be know as superior and one of, if not THE, best value on the market!

thanks for the support Sweetpea!!! i look forward to meeting you in person someday soon! PM me your ph#, i'd love to talk with you.

Matt

No problem.....Its been PM'd. I got your PM as well.

I have not doubt you will take this company skyward. I know the 42% 300 is a kick ass plane as I have one and really enjoy it, as does everyone I know that has flown mine. My Edge was a V1 and I did an ok job building it (with the help of Tom R.) but even with his help I screwed some things up here and there and had to fix em. Its a tad heavy compared to today's planes. And like you I replaced most of the Alum with CF (except the gear). Can't wait to see what you do for the company.

And I'm not put off by a price increase, but I do have to admit that price was the original reason I bought an Aerotech over the other name brands. While I could afford the others, cutting the price on this plane allowed me to afford more planes for my hangar in a sooner time frame.

We are getting closer and closer to being ready for business. We are currently building up our stock to be able to have product ready to ship when ordered. We are making the necessary adjustments on our website and will have that up and running by month's end.

We definitely appreciate everyone's patience as we are getting this going. As we said in the acquisition announcement, we will not open up until we are 110% ready to service our product in a prompt and proper fashion and we are almost there.

The first run of kits will include the 300 Midwing in both 100cc and 150/170 sizes, the all new Extra 330 SC in the 100cc and the 150/170 size, the all new Edge 540 in both sizes, the Sukhoi Su26 in 3 sizes and the Yak 55 in 3 sizes! We will be following these up with our 44% Giles 202, the Yak54 in the 3 sizes and our 92" Chipmunk.

We have changed a lot of things with the Aerotech company since our take over. As said in the announcement article, we are now including carbon tubes and even carbon wheel pants! We will now be offering a complete "nuts and bolts" package from Fastenal. All of our fiberglass parts will now be done above all industry standard and will be more solid, have less pin-holes, and will be stronger and lighter than ever before. Our canopy lexan will be stronger and clearer with a better finish than the days of old and ...... FINALLY....

We are now offering our kits with no "burn marks"!!! That's right, we are now able to offer a fully CNC'd kit with the same tremendous tolerances and no "burn sanding" necessary! If you have built any laser cut kits in the past you will know that the tolerances are awesome and the fit is terrific.... BUT.... The glue just doesn't adhere to the burnt portion of the wood very well at all. It is necessary to take valuable time and sand these surfaces to get proper adhesion... Well, NOT ANY MORE! We will still be able to produce and offer the laser cut kits but we are assuming that the "building population" out there will greatly appreciate the CNC product that we are generating. These parts can be shipped while still in the sheet for maximum safety and damage control or we will have an option where we remove the pieces from the sheet and package them as you'd be used to receiving a laser cut kit. By delivering the CNC cut pieces to you "in the sheet" we insure saftey, simplicity AND MOST OF ALL.... We insure that ALL PIECES ARE INCLUDED!!!!! No more getting the plane with some of the cut pieces missing! Due to the CNC process, each piece will hace a small (maybe 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch) tab holding them in the sheet. These tabs will need to be cut off when the pieces are removed. They can be zipped down with sand paper or an Xacto knife, what ever the builder chooses. We will gladly do this for our customers if they choose to have the pieces not delivered still in the sheet! I like the idea of all of the pieces still in the sheet and removing them upon the need to install them! I personally would misplace a lot less pieces that way!!! LOL!

Our foam pieces will now be done by CNC machine as well! We will be providing the most consistant foam cuts on the market and there will no longer be room for human error when cutting wings and stabs, etc. This is a little more expensive for us but the results are simply tremendous!

Well, these and many other minor changes will allow us to deliver you a tremendous product! One that is simple to build and one that flies better than ever before! Be it that all of the manufacturing of these kits is being done right here locally, we have complete control of both the quality and the turn around time on every facet of our kits!

Those of you that know us already understand that we will refuse to send out a product we aren't completely satisfied with and our porduct needs to be one that we are PROUD to have our personal names associated with! Those that we haven't gotten to know as of yet will soon discover this when they build and fly one of our kits! Again, thanks for the patience... It'll be WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!!

More to come.... VERY SOON!!!!

Matt Mikesh

thanks again for the kind words guys!

i just got back from the KC 3D Poker fly weekend and it was a blast. Our new edge had a really good showing and all that flew and watched it fly seemed to be very pleased! John Light and Jared Sisk have twisted my arm enough to get me to bring the Edge down to the Heatwave in Tulsa this coming weekend!!! So, I'm looking forward to getting the sticks in more people's hands to show the world that the new Aerotech really has the "Edge"!!!!

see y'all in OK!

For some reason i forgot about the big Velox didn't I?!?!?!

YES! We definitely have the Velox and Velox REV II in the stable still and we are now offering them with a much more up to date, CNC'd construction as well and this plane will be significantly lighter than it's predecessor. Both of the sizes.... 35% and 42% will remain in the stable. For those that haven't ever flown the VELOX, it is the perfect point roll plane. This on will find it's way back into the IMAC seen very soon i'm sure!!!!

The Velox I had was great sequence flying plane and I ESPECIALLY liked the way it did point rolls! You could do a flawless 8 point with it and that is something many of the competition IMAC planes have trouble with. At the 2007 Nats I won many Known rounds in Advanced with this plane. There is a thread on it somewhere.

Thanks,
Jim
