here are some pics of the proto that i am flying.... as said earlier, the only difference between this proto and the actual kit is the CNC vs Laser cutting.

#1. The rudder is that size to allow more surface area.
#2. The rudder has an lifting airfoil in combination with more surface will cause less movement for action.
Does this help?

I've built a lot of ARF's, but never tackled a kit.... would you consider the 100cc Edge as a first kit build? Given my flying luck lately, I'd hate to spend the time and attention required for a kit build, just to re-kit it before the motor breaks in.... but I've always wanted to build a kit. That's the only way them came back when I started flying 30 years ago, but a Fox 60 was a big motor back then too!

hey reyn!!!

obviously i have a little bit of a "bias" here when answering your question but here goes....

YES! this would be a terrific 1st time build. our kits are extremely simple to build. get 2 pieced of angle iron and lay them on the plans along the fuse sides and the formers will actually stand up by themselves the tolerances are so good. the stringers are simple, the sheeting is a piece of cake and there is plenty of support between Rob and my self when you have any questions. you'll find that you can get these babies built in about half of the time you would origionally think! i'll be down at the atl HF again and i would be able to spend some time with you then going over any issues you may have come across by then... you'll love it!!!

we'll cut some pretty good introductory deals during the month of august to get as many of our airframes as possible out there for the up coming building season!!!!

let me know!

matt

I have built my share or giant scale kits over the years (of varying brands) and for me the Aerotechs are as straight forward as they come. You will be shocked at how quickly the pile of wood will look like an airplane!!

With the modifications/improvements to the kits that Matt is talking about these babys are going to be SWEET!!

I say go for it!! There will be tons of support here on FG to help you out when you need it and there is nothing better then saying "I built that" instead of "I got it from China"
