Default Twitchy control surfaces

Decided to swap out my rudder servo on my Midwest Extra. I went from a JR 8101 to an 8411DS and it instantly made every control surface on the plane go crazy. Went to an 8611ADS and the same thing happened. Put the 8101 back on and all was fine. Running a 2.1 Moki so ign. is a non issue. New JR 8103 trans. on a 549 FM reciever. Are digital servos and FM reciever my problem?

I saw the same thing years ago with JR mini digitals used with a JR r600 (FM) receiver. I switched it to a PCM receiver and the jitters were gone. I'd call Horizon though as I think you should be able to use FM. I think Horizon told me those jitters were OK but I didn't like them so opted for the PCM.

It is a FM receiver issue. Get a small ferrite ring from Radio shack and wrap your servo extension around it a few times and see if it helps. If that doesn't do it then try a PCM receiver.
Just my two cents.

Thanks fellas, I will run the 8101 until my PCM reciever arrives, and I agree Aviti FM should be OK and whoever from horizon told you that jitters are Ok should be slapped!

I also have a Midwest Extra 300 with a MOKI 2.1 and am also experiencing twiching servos. I am very interested in this problem and how to solve it because I have not flown this plane for a while due to this issue.

We had the same prob with futaba digital 3050's, whilst running PPM. All the servo's were twitching (4xdigital and 2xAnalog)...We took a gamble and tried a multiplex IPD which has the best from both PPM and Failsafe, you can switch the IPD filter on and off and theres no twitching Either way....also theres two battery inputs to it and on the old reciever we had the 2nd battery on a spare channel - maybe this has made the difference??

Cheers Shaun and Ollie
