Hi All,
My father and I have been R/C enthusiasts for as long as I can remember. While we've had a couple of hiatus' from the sport due to relocations, jobs and life in general, we've been at it for over 20 years. We aren't great pilots and we aren't great builders, but we still enjoy it nonetheless. Buried deep within our collection of unbuilt kits is a 1/3 Laser 200 by Precision Built. We're almost done with the fuse construction and realized the wing plans are nowhere to be found! Does anyone know (or have) a source to dig up old plans? This kit is probably every bit of 18 years old. It's always been in a temp and humidity controlled environment so it's in great shape - we just need to track down the wing plans. Flying Model Magazine did a review of the kit in their April 1988 issue - would anyone happen to have back issues dating to the late 80's? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks! If Im not mistaken(which is possible) I believe "Precision Built" was a company here in SanAntonio but obviously is no more. I happen to know where one of these very planes are in an attic that I plan on taking possesion of this summer. I will ask around with some of the older guys that would know about these.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I came across the bobflies.com site and was wondering if that was indeed the designer. I will try dropping them an email, and if anyone has plans the could photograph, it would be a HUGE help!

I'm 99.9% positive these are /were 2 diff. companies, simply because PB has been out of bus. for years, and PAD is still going strong and coming out with new planes.

it seems to me that the Lanier RC Laser 200 is virtually identical....do you suppose they acquired the rights to the kit?
Also, for any of you that have the kit, i'd gladly pay to get a copy of your plans. I believe officemax does blueprint copies. If anyone is interested, PM me and name your price! |
