hi guys just want to know if there is a more permenant fix for getting rid of static build up from the belt in a carbon boom other than the silicon spray as I cant be sure it will always work.

Have you tried anti static dryer sheets? No static charge and a fresh mountain scent!

Here,
Let me take a stab at this one....... Have you done a load of clothes since college? Back then, Mommy wanted your clothes to smell good because all your frat brothers smelled like beer, puke or body odor. (Funny thing..... You did too!) So....... when she did your laundry if you came in for the weekend, she threw these soft little square things into the dryer when she dried your clothes. They made your clothes smell good even if you didn't exactly smell so great yourself! And that gentlemen, is a dryer sheet. Now go get one and rub your tail boom (The helicopter's tailboom!!) and the anti static quality of the sheet will knock out that annoying static build-up on your chopper's boom area. And by the way.......... Ya'll are a few years outta college now...... Who's still smelling like puke AND liquor??? LOL! WT ![]()

Voitty,
I had an Aussie "mate" at college. He was a pretty good flier and could drink a lot of us frat brothers under the table! As far as the "dry sheets" go, it's just that you pop them into the clothes dryer to help with the static cling associated with clothes and to help them smell good when they are done drying. The language barrier is okay by us........ Even though we both speak English, sometime we have a bit of a problem figuring out what each other is talking about...... Heck, it took me a while to figure out what you Aussies were talking about when you said "boat race!" I figured you and the New Zeland guys were wanting to race yachts! Drink up! LOL! WT ![]()
