They are actually flying on the back side of the slope in the ROTOR! It's like being shot out of a slingshot! It only works at very few, unique locations with a hill that comes to a peak with a front and back side to it! It is down right amaizing! You just keep going faster and faster and faster until the plane explodes or you twitch out and crash!

yea I think the hill works as a wind break
alowing it to not lose much speed on the
way up then the air hits it at the top
and accerates it more on the way down.

I was told that those are mostly made out of carbon fiber and cost $1500 and they usually crash it the same day.

Let see. If it lasts 1min, then the flight cost is $25/sec not bad.

Slope soaring is great, heaps of fun can be had on a big slope with heaps of lift and the beauty of it is that you are always standing on the top of a big hill. Great views and the only expense is getting to the slope, just charge a battery no fuel and stay up for a couple of hours.

Or if you want to goof off with the buddies on the those days when the wind is too strong at the field, do some combat with the foamies we have a great time. Even have full body combat where you fly around and try and hit your buddy but the head is off limit, makes for a great time and it also improves ones reflex action heaps and heaps of laughs

I doubt it, a local in East Tennesee flew a 280 mph sloper for 12 years before the 3 year old elevator servos burned up. And old FC member CDIGINTION flew them and was well over 275mph . They last as long as a 37%...depends on whos hands, mine12 minutes, yours, ? Awesome speeds. I would love to know exactly how it works . The second link has a dude at 301?
