I didn't build mine. It was given to me built. I did notice the guy that built it made the tank movable.
It slides left and right to make the wing bolts more accessible. I don't really think it was necessary.

Just mount the engine correctly and you will not have issues with vibration! This engine should not be mounted on long stand offs, do yourself a favor and make a light weight motor mount, they are several post on FG that shows how to do this. If done correctly you should be real happy wiht the 85 in this plane. Should be an animal!

The 85 has plenty of power and is 2lb lighter than the 100. But, the twin is smoother!! I would definatly epoxy around the "engine box area" if you use the 85. The top plate for the firewall offers no strength as is is thin and flimsy. The rest of the engine box area is good!! Mine finshed at 25.5lbs half wet. It just had half a tank in it when i weighed it. I have no carbon tube or gear. I have a BME 102 in mine. Good unlimited vert and i am ussually flying at 2500 ASL. I use 8711's, one per ail, one on rudder. 8611's one per ele half. I made a central wing servo mount in the middle of the two from the factory for a single servo per wing set up. The covering will peel back with out ripping of you take your time. I then made a central hard point in the aileron. Again the ultrakote pulled back without ripping and ironed back down nicely. I made a fuel tank mount over the wingtube for a more consistant CG, pretty basic. I'll post pics. I also made a plate mount for the engine as BME's lightweight alum radial mount can easily bend with standoffs. I have really short stand offs between the plate and the firwall. My "plate" is 3/8 thick walnut. As with every arf i've had i go through the entire airframe with 20 minute finish cure epoxy. I epoxy all the seams and in and outside of the firewall and "engine box" area as well any where factory glue is. I dont cake it on, i just use a small paint brush to get it in the cracks and anywhere two pieces of wood touch. Only adds 1-2 oz of wieght to cover the entire inside of the fuse and wing root area, but makes for a much more rigid airframe, noticably less flexable in the air especially during extreme g's. Hence i dont ever have to worry about somthing in the frame just breaking from normal hard abuse. Plus when i pulled the wing/aileron covering back, i was able to epoxy around those area's more easily. I also moved my CG way back and the plane really likes it. For a low wing plane it flies surprisingly good in 3D and excellent for Imac. I think it flies better than the 33% Edge 540 from Hangar 9 that replaced it with.

I had one with a 3W-75 and it flew well, other than properly reinforcing the motor box it should be fine.

Especially anything low speed. However, I'm at 6000'asl. And at almost 26lbs, she will try to tip on my turn from the cross leg to final if I don't keep her at a good click. At sea level, you may not encounter this. Also, the 100 will not fit inside the cowl without cutting teardrops for the plugs.
If you can find a BME twin, like a 102, or 110 with low pro caps, you're golden.

back here a friend of mine have one with a da 100 on the nose an flies great and it fit inside of the cowling with no problem. the onluy thing was taht the spark plug wires touch the cowling thats it.

If he got his DA-100 to fit in the cowl of a Hangar 9 33% Extra 330s without cutting the cowl for plug boot clearance he must have had custom short plug boots on his DA-100 or had the engine too far to the right side of the plane and not lined up right. My BME 102 Conv(100 two bearing case converted to 102) is an inch+ narrower than the DA-100's and it had to have custom short plug boots on it to fit without cutting the cowl, and, It still barley touched the left side in the cowl with the plug boot. I now have a newer BME 102 three bearing case(factory 102) in the same plane and i had to cut the cowl for plug boot clearance/proper engine alignment and this BME 102 is also almost an inch narrower than the DA-100 also. Just thought i would throw that in here for clarity, lol.
