Chris, Whats your current set up prop and muffler? If its a pitts you may also need to go to a can. Also another thing you can do is limit the throttle (at your home field) to maybe 75% then the noise will be under your limit.

Cheese I think you will find the 25 x 12 3B might be a bit of a load for the 85. Have you tried a 24x12 3B?

On my DA100L I went from 6300 on a 28 x 10 2B down to 5600 on the 25x12 3B and I was on straight DA mufflers. Yes it quieted it down but 700 rpms was just to much to loose flying a 32 lb airframe. Then again with your 33% it might not be so bad.

If I make it to Jackson and you go you can give it a try, I'll bring it. Right now it's looking doubtfull for Jack son as I leave Monday morning to Vancouver BC for two weeks and don't get back untill about 10:00 PM Friday June 5th. With a 5 hour drive from my house to jackson it's very doubtfull I will nake it as I probalby could not get away till about 11:00 PM and that would put me in to Jackson at 4:30 AM.

If I can cut the trip short and get back Thursday the 4th then I'll make it. I'll let you know as it gets closer.
