Bill, it is a Citabria 7GCBC. Flat bottom wing, flaps, dihedrial, fixed pitch prop and no inverted systems, -20 HP also (160).
The SuperD is known as a 8KCAB. Symetrical, no dihedrial,no flaps, 180hp fuel injected, constant speed prop, inverted systems. Some early Decathlons (not super) were 150/160 hp with fixed pitch props.

Look here, http://www.amerchampionaircraft.com/
http://www.airplane4sale.com/ACA%20Home.htm

I am happy to be able to get an airplane that looks so much my Citabria ! Seems like there is a void of civil aircraft (that are not unlimited aerobats).
Have you thought about a Super Cub? Two biggest visual differences are cowling and flaps.

This plane will be powered by a new DA-170 that is sitting around collecting dust and looks to collect a little more before it finds a new home. So..The 50% clipped wing club looks really cool, but the Pilot RC Decathlon might even be cooler. It looks like it might take a couple of less servos as well, which means a much more simple setup. If given the chance...which would you buy.

Although not quite as big but still 165 inch wingspan have a look at this Decathlon

Yet another option:

www.billhempel.com

I have 38% (100cc- 146" ws) and 58% (275cc-215" ws) Super Decathlon's being made! Now you can have your own choice in anysize you want. TBM offers the 150cc size too.

If you like this type of airplane you can get one in any size you want!!!

Hello Bill,

Any chance of getting a fabric covered version in a custom scheme. I like the 100c size but would likely put an older 3W 150 in it.

Thanks!
Kurt

The very first 50% Cub prototype was covered in fabric, I was looking for that scale look on these big airplanes........ BUT, the coverying was crap. Fabric covering for these ARF have been researched and failed. The covering did not hold its shrink free shape, in fact.. everytime the airplane was taken in sunlight, it would wrinkle up.

You will need to order an airplane and just uncover it to do it correctly with fabric, sorry.

Bill

The 100cc airplane with a 100cc engine in it is great! I can not recomend you install a larger motor that what is already recomended.

Maybe I should stop recomending engine sizes for all my airplanes. Seems what ever size engine I design an airplane for....... everyone puts something BIGGER in them. I think I will design an airplane for a 500cc engine, that will fix you guys!
