Just a quick reminder to all of you that plan to attend the San Diego IMAC at Miramar on June 27th, 2009 to go and register at mini-iac.com.
Last year we had a great time, finished early on Sunday and ran only one flight line all weekend. This is also a great place to pick up some extra TAS points and get in front of some great judges who are willing to help you out. There will be a practice session on Friday, so come early. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Pedro. |

Last year I was just a volunteer helping run the flight line. After a lot of hard work I was accepted into the Miramar club as one of the limited civilian members. As a effort to better the event we will be offering a expanded friday practice session this year. I have been volunteered to organize this. Please post here if interested so we can gauge the numbers. I'll post more info as it develops. Thanks, Chris.
PS: I'll monitor here, TFC and Mini-IAC.

I attended the "inaugural" contest last year, and had a blast! Field location/orientation is ideal. All amenities are close at hand, the sea breeze is light, it,s sunny So Cal. What's not to like?? Las Vegas will be there in force....

For those of you that have requested directions... here you go:
Come down the 15 S and take the Pomerado/Miramar exit. Go East, as soon as you cross over the freeway go approximately 500 yds., turn right (South) into Marine Corps Reserve Center. Stop at gate at left turn in road. Entry gate is marked and locked. Member escort is required. There are two Pomerado exits. Make sure you take the second one that is about 8 miles south of the first one and is marked Pomerado/Miramar. |

I wasn't able to make this contest last year, but I'm looking forward to it this year.

You might try Campland On The Bay. Closer, nicer, on the water, more fun. Full of people from Az this time of year.

Santeelakes is a great place to stay. It would be my first choice for this event. From Miramar I feel it's the easiest to get to.
I will have details on the Friday practice schedule/time tommorow.

Ya, ya some of us are staying in a hotel.....not bringing one with us!! Can't wait to see the 3.0 meter in action again. I'll be bringing the 120 inch QQ YAK this time, but I'll have the little one just in case.....you know my luck these days!
