the arming switch that you mentioned, does it have any kind of led indicator when the system is HOT? also, what brand of batteries do you recomend? I read that the Rhino cheapies are not too bad. any advise on exact battery specs and brand would be helpful. last question, I need to buy a balancing charger for lipos, any brand that you like? again thanks for offering to answer my questions. Pete, sorry no LED indicator. Typically just before getting ready to fly I connect my battery, place the canopy on the airframe and walk to the flight line. I power on the system just before take off. You must ALWAYS unplug your battery after flying and especially before putting the aircraft away for the day or you will deplete your battery and ruin it.
Although I mainly use FlightPower batteries I have a few Rhino 2350 4S that have worked quite well in the EXP. I really like the Bantam BC-8 charger. |

That should be fun to follow and see the work that goes into making a Extreme Flight Rc aircraft !
And see why it takes you so darn long to get the plane into our little grubby hands !

Wondering if anybody else encountered my same problem. Using HS 82s in the tail. The servo horns that come with them are fairly short. The manual just says "use the longest ones provided with the servos". My problem is with the rudder, as I haven't even hooked up the ele with the G10 horn yet. When I get out to the closer end of travel to the left, the servo horn flexes as the angle of the pushrod changes with the control horn on rudder comes in closer to the fuse.
I tried an extended bolt on arm (carbon fiber from PA) and it seemed better, but still some flex and my servo struggles against the flexing of the arm. Do I need an EVEN LONGER arm. Seems like I'm going to wind up with one almost as long as the G10 provided for the elevator. Anybody else use HS 82s? What length servo arm did you use? Rishelman |

I'm just gonna use a ball link on both ends to allow for the side to side movement on the servo arm.

Finally got my batteries and maidened my new EXP today. Everything went great!! Totally stock linkage setup and all is well. I flew a battery through it checking everything out and stress-testing the controls, and Jamie Hicks flew another pack through it playing with the Unlimited IMAC sequence. I forgot just how nicely this thing flies and handles the wind. Can't wait to get it back in the air, hopefully when it's warmer than 40!

Glad to hear you're having fun with it! I've got my servo on the way and already got my replacement ESC. Should have mine flying before too long. Btw, stop complaning about sub40 degrees. Yesterday was the first day in 2 weeks that we hit 20. It was down to -3 a week ago. ;-)
Have fun!

Will somebody PLEASE post how long of servo arms they are using with a "stock setup" that works "fine". I've had my plane two weeks now, not done building it yet. Every time I go out to the shop I just get pissed because my servo horns on rudder and ailerons have to be flexed by the servo towards middle to end of travel. I've posted about this before and everyone seems to think I'm nuts. It's not brain surgery: there is no pivot allowed at servo arm due to the fact that the control rod is BOLTED DOWN. Sure the easy connector spins on one axis to allow for the servo moving, but not the other axis to allow for the up/down or left/right of control horn moving with ail/ele. The only thing I can think of is ball links at both ends (no adjustment except subtrim) or a way longer arm than I am using. A longer arm would move the surface more with less movement of the servo, not quite so much flexing.
Really, I would just love it if someone would post the length of arms they are using (inches, mm, I don't care which) so I can see if the bulk of the problem is just that the "longest arm provided" is not enough in my case. thanks Rishelman |

all mine are the longest stock arms that come with the HS65mg's and they work fine, just finished setting everything up a few days ago..and the elev. gets the special G10 arm that comes with the plane.
