Default Hangar 9 Pitts 12R "The Beast"

I understand Quique has developed a 100cc version of this airplane for Horizon. Has anyone heard anything about when it might be available or at what price?

That play is probably going to be way off in the distance.

I heard QuiQue at Nall say it would be late this year. I have only heard speculation on pricing that ranged from $999.00 to $1,299.00. I don't think it has been officially announced.

Knowing what we know it could be released at the end of this year and still be a "Distant future" plane... LOL!!

To anybody that saw the Beast at Joe Nall: Is the Beast the same size as QQ's previous Python (The Brio scheme or the Kimball scheme) model? Airfoil any different?

WT, It appeared to me to be very close in construction and size to the old QQ Python(looking in thru the canopy). The Beast has rounded wing tips where the python has squared off tips. Other than that I don't know.

Hi Guys,

Wing span is larger as well. There are other changes but I don't know if I can speak about that. RCU has the wingspan info I saw on their H9 ad so that should not be a problem to mention

Kevin or Quique can elaborate on this. As for the availability I would count on it this year

Wango,

I studied them really close and the only noticeable difference I saw was the wing tips and colors. It was sitting right beside a python when I was looking it over. I was curious if I could use the beast parts if I need any replacement parts for my python. The color scheme looked good but it didn't seem to show up in the air as good as I would have liked.

Thanks guys....
I dunno. Maybe it's just the color throwing me off but when you look at the Kimball scheme and the Brio scheme compared to the new Beast, it looks as though the top wing sits higher (away) from the top of the fuse. I'm guessing that the bigger span must be attributed to the rounded tips instead of the clipped wing tips. At any rate, I think it's a lot prettier color scheme. Looking forward to popping open the box and doing some serious drooling!

Yeh that is my only beef with it, I really don't like the scheme, but it might grow on me,, and the other part,, the price will probrably be in the 1299 range I bet,, ,, but I don't think the changed any major things, like airfoil or anything, they probrably took queque's design and added some wingtips, and the different covering scheme. Horizon probrably saved alot of money on RandD by just taking his design,,,

If you look at the stab position on the fuse, it is ALOT lower on all of the QQ planes than on the real planes, that is a QQ R&D modification
Here are some pics for comparison from the model to the real plane.

I'm not too keen on the scheme either... Maybe that will change, maybe it won't... Hope it makes it to the market for the winter building season! Looks like it should be a fun Pitts!!

We were sort of comparing the QueQue model with the new "horizon hobby" beast,, but that is a good catch,,, I have looked at the python and the beast models together and they do look almost identical except for the wingtips and covering,,

I asked QQ at the Joe Nall. Now I'm glad I can get some parts for my python even if I have to paint or cover them.
