Default STOLEN 40% AIRPLANE

Hi All,

I recently had my trailer stolen, which included my 40% Jason Schulman Fiberclasics Extra 330. This was actually Jasons airplane at one point and still has his name on the side. It has a DA-150, all JR 8611's except rudder which has Futaba 5050s.

I don't expect the trailer to show up here, but just incase it does, it is a Gray 2004 Haulmark, 7 x 14 V Nose. 2 distinguishing features are the passenger side fender has a dent in the front like it hit something and the vent in the top blew off so it was replaced by a plywood box.

It is not likely the person who stole the trailer knew there was anything inside, so they probably do not know anything about these airplanes.

If anyone has any information please contact me at 850-472-0610 or ed@gallerypad.com

Thieves... I hate thieves! One of my houses was burglarized a few years ago. What I still wouldnt do to catch those guys, and go at them with a pair of pliers and a blow torch....

I will definitely keep an eye out for that airplane popping up for sale.

Oh that makes me sick. I have a Diamond Cargo 14 x 7 trailer that I put a lot of time into pimping the inside out. If someone steals it and the plane..I will hang them by their low hanging fruit.

keepan eye on craigslist, too. The ad will say say something like "really big toy airplane - will tradef for crack". Sorry about the luck - hopefully you had it insured or your homeowners insurance will cover it.

Hopefully you didn't put a bunch of fancy R/C logos on it. That just gives the thieves an idea of what's in there...
I thought about blinging my trailer up with something like
Nick's Highway Roadkill Removal
and putting a bunch of biohazard stickers all over it - might just make the crackheads look for a different trailer

There are actually two different schools on this....

a "blinged" trailer is harder to fence since it is unique...

a blank, plain trailer can be sold in 15 minutes.......

Not saying one is more right...

Sorry to hear about that! I'd love to to catch someone trying to steal from me. They would have a size 12 shoe imprint in their face for starters and then I'd cut their arms off with a dull hack saw!
I hope you find you trailer and plane unharmed! Check the local pawn shops as well as free online ads like craigs list.
One other thing you might consider checking, are the lawn mower repair shops some of those places buy used trailers and resell to landscaping companies.
I think a low jack system for trailers would be a great idea.

Actually my trailer is blinged on the inside. It was just plywood on the inside. I put the fancy shmancy white walls and ceiling and rubber tread diamond plate floors. I also added power, lights and other things for when my wife kicks me out of the house.

I had my trailer stolen a couple years ago with all my planes and equipment inside. Luckily, the contents was mostly recovered in a dumpster about 80 miles from here. Tools were gone along with the trailer, but i did get my planes and plane related stuff back.

What I did that helped the most was send a detailed email to your local club guy who handles the newsletter or has contacts with other clubs in your area. Make sure you include pictures. I did this and within a few days, i was getting emails from clubs 4 and 5 states away telling me they would keep their eyes open for my belongings.

If I hadnt of done this, I would have never gotten my stuff back. My planes were recognized from the pictures. A few phone calls later and i was in touch with the police officer who handled the situation. I borrowed a trailer and made the trip to pick up my stuff.

Good Luck, Hopefully you will get back your gear.

How about your insurance? Was it stolen from your house? My homeowners was going to cover the contents as long as I provided receipts and pics with prices of the contents inside.
