Roger you will do quite nicely if the plane even comes out at 32lbs. Mine is 28lbs with a 100 twin and including 50oz.s of fuel. One word of advice though if using a really light engine package up front. Hand select and weigh any wood that is used for the tail and if possible use all kevlar for the flying wires. Its really a shame to add weight to an aerobatic model to make it balance. Ive built about 40 or so of these airplanes from scratch and what I learned is that the flying wire system is where the strength needs to be and it doesnt have to be steel either. Im sure you know all this but just thought Id throw it out there.

Scott,
You are right, and the flying wires in the tail will be the same I am using on the 34%, Kevlar 150 lbs) very light and very strong.

I am also choosing the wood much more carefully . every ounce counts.

I will also pull the enigine forward as I did on the 34 % proportionately that is , 2" for the 34% so it will be about 2.5 to 3 inches more forward then plan calls for. to offset the the engine weight which is very low.

Roger

Roger. You have noticed what a floater the smaller one is, the big one is more so. Landings are ridiculous, with a little head wind you almost need to push it down.

Something I hope to try in the future is reduce the size of the landing gear. I would like to try the 2024 aluminum and use a blank that is 1/3 skinner. It is not needed to save weight but sure would look a little more scale.

OH and Scott, you can count the Lasers you built as 41, all I did was follow your directions, and you cut the wing.
Thank you Scott.

I think a big thank you is for Jack Strickland for such a fine design , and guys he still has the plans

Jack is making me a landing out of 2024 T3, also smaller to make it lighter.
