Hello Jack
Regarding your post on page 46, post 546, 1st picture, is the wing standing on its trailing edge? I'm trying to undersand how you cut the bottom of the wing. I'm thinking that you are standing the wing on its trailing edge, so that the cutting wire does not sag in the middle due to its own weight. Thanks, Randy |

If you look carefully, two of the pictures were simply not rotated properly before being posted. Roger

Actually I did look at it carefully, staring at it for 15 minutes. But after rotating the picture, things became clear.
I find the subject of jigged build foam wings fascinating. What I've been able to gather, is that for the scratch builder, cutting ribs is much easier than cutting large solid foam wings. At least I have not been able to find many if any threads regarding cutting solid core wings and seeing pictures of the results. I have found several threads regarding cutting foam ribs. So I would think cutting your own ribs is more economical than purchasing solid foam cores. Thanks for the quick response. Randy |

With this type of wing building, you still have to cut the whole part of wing as if you were cutting a solid core. You can't cut individual ribs . but its not hard to do really. Roger

Hmmmm, good question! Actually it has been going quite slowly at this time. Been very busy with other aspect of hobby. Developing the constant speed prop, and ......... At this point the airplane is basically built, finalized the Turbine install, cowling fitted, waiting for the covering material from Nelson hobbies. I should Start on the covering next week I hope. Thanks for the interest. Roger
